Pros It was pretty cheap
Cons Wifi speed is slow, drops wifi connection, pretty poor range, can't update firmware for some reason, doesn't work with PS3 in wifi encryption.
Summary I've had nothing but problems with this router. I stream movies over the wired network and sometimes I can barely get 100mb from the rate 1gbps link. I constantly have to reboot the router, wifi doesn't work with the ps3 when using encryption, I can't update the firmware, freezes up constantly, and all around sucks. Avoid this router like the plague.
Pros Stable connection, Gigabit ports. Streams Netflix flawlessly. Strong signal in two bedroom apartment.
Cons Set Up directions very vague. Old school look.
Summary The Trendnet Gigbit Router was purchased through Amazon for $73.00. Very Cheap! The Router has never lost a connection and surfing the net wirelessly is fast and easy. Currently my Blu-Ray streams Netflix via the Router and its Gigabit port. The quality is smooth and excellent. Setting up the Trendnet router however is a bit tricky. Very little documentation comes with it. If you have a dynamic "DHCP" or "automatic" IP address, like 90% of use do, you need to switch the WPS switch on the back to off! Then it can configure itself automatically by cloning the IP, and then switch it back to on to go wireless.
Pros easy to set up
Cons Often will not assign IP address (Wireless or LAN). Can't block domains by name, only by IP address
Summary I've had weekly issues with this router not assigning valid IP addresses (both wireless and wired). It came to a head when multiple router power cycles and laptop resets would not get me connected. Plugged my old D-LINK back in and I was on in 30 seconds.
Pros Installed with a Belkin High Performance N1 Wireless Desktop Card (F5D8001tt), TEW-639GR gives me a «solid» and regular connection at 300Mbps. No drops have been recorded, even if there is many networks close to my place on the same channel.
Cons Router TEW-639GR has been tricky to install and to tune on my cable modem. It could benefit from a user friendly installation software.
Pros Easy setup, many possibilities.
Cons I have owned and used a lot of networking equipment, and for me this is the worst one ever. It seemed to work fine at first, but the moment I started using Skype with video, withing 20 seconds it would completely kill the internet speed. Even QoS wouldn't
Summary This is going straight into the garbage when I receive my decent router tomorrow (Zyxel). I am not buying cheap again. To complete the story:

I have owned and used a lot of networking equipment, and for me this is the worst one ever. It seemed to work fine at first, but the moment I started using Skype with video, withing 20 seconds it would completely kill the internet speed. Even QoS wouldn't help that.
I updated to the newest software, and it works even worse now. As long as I stay in the same room, withing 10ft, it's fine. If I move further away or to another room, it will say I have full wireless connectivity, but I loose connection to the internet. Switching to B/G only helps a little, untill our A/C turns on, and everything is lost again.
