"works fine for basic internet"3.5 starson by y0Lorenzo
Pros: cheap, works fine for internet, easy set up
Cons: sucks for wireless streaming video
Summary: I have a D-Link DSM-510 that I like to send movies to from my PC. I've never done ad-hoc, I'd imagine that would be worse, but from PC over wire to router beaming to D-link... the D-link freezes and chokes on the video.
When I upgraded to a D-Link DIR-655... problems vanish. Smooooooth good lookin video.
I had "Good" range in the farthest places of my house. and "very good" to "excellent" range everywhere else.
Since I got the D-Link N Gigabit router... I put DD-WRT on the Linksys and I now use it as a wireless "client bridge" for my dad's DINOSAUR Compaq (only has 10Mb LAN connection) and our HP Office Jet 6310. Both devices behave just as though they were plugged-in directly to a router or switch.
