"Whoa Nellie!! Beware this one!!" on by wazzu1992
Pros: I guess it's size is a plus.
Cons: One of the WORST pieces of electronics I've ever owned.
Summary: I went through FIVE (no kidding, 5) of these in 2 cars before finally giving up (I've 2 lifetime Sirius subs). Brief history. 1st one: terrible reception-it'd drop out every 2-seconds; 2nd one: great reception but half of screen burned out after a week; 3rd same as 1st; 4th same as 1st w/2nd problem thrown in; 5th same as 2nd. All 5 would get very, very hot. Radio WAS the problem because after 3rd one in my car, finally went to installed unit w/same antannae gear & no drop out at all--eventually same w/wife's car unit. At least B'punkt stepped up to the plate and took back unit for full refund, no Q's asked.

"Do not buy this radio!!" on by fytrope55
Pros: Looks cool
Cons: Everything else.
Summary: Bought this and worked decent for 6 months, at least what I thought was good. THen one day it just stops audio output, for no reason. Thankfully Blaupunkt refunded the entire radio after I had to pay to ship it back. A woman from their company called me to confirm my address for mailing the check and she told me that it was a bad radio and they were considering no longer selling them.
Got a Sportster and it is much better, actually can hear audio through my radio without static now. -
"the first 2 could've been cool, i hope the 3rd actually is." on by ecalcott
Pros: neat blue screen, nice display
Cons: too many problems
Summary: i have just sent back unit no#2, and i too hope that the 3rd time is the charm.
unit#1 worked many months, but then the screen would go black, the presets would be erased, and then no sound.
unit #2 had spotty reception/sound output from the beginning. (too many "drops") then, one day for no apparent reason, no sound output.
so now i await no.#3
but even so, it appears that the antenna system is poorly engineered. the incoming wire has to be in the exact perfect place to line-up with the unit's contact point.
on the other hand, at least the customer service has been great. i received reimbursement for the replacement unit almost immediately.
fyi, my other car has one of the original kenwood 'wired' fm modulators and what it lacks in mutiple-line display, it more than makes up for in reception, sound, and modulation quality! -
"Third time's the charm" on by CNash2099
Pros: Good night display, compact size, helpful customer service
Cons: Runs hot, screen scuffs very easily, hard to read display in daylight
Summary: As with some of the other users, I had a few problems with this unit. The first one lasted about 2 weeks, then no audio output. Crutchfield was out of stock and referred me to Midwest Electronics (Blaupunkt's authorized US service center). They too were on backorder, but had a shorter lead time than Crutchfield (2 months instead of 5). When the new receiver arrived, I had some problems getting it activated, but it worked okay.......for a week. This unit wouldn't pick up the signal and kept losing the memory presets. I sent it back for a second exchange. The third one has been working fine for months, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

"Nice unit, but never worked correctly" on by mikemeck
Pros: Looks good, Operation seemed fairly easy
Cons: Major connectivity issues. Both with the cradle and the Sattelite connection.
Summary: This was my first test into the Sattelite realm. I was happy once I purchased the unit, but started to have issues with the cradle, as it never would connect correctly. Had to call Blaupunkt and get it changed out. Then had issues with the unit getting a signal period. Decided to ditch it for good and go for a more permanent solution, the Alpine CDA9851 head unit, which has given me much better performance and no more cables going across my dash!
