"VERY VERSATILE, AMAZING DESIGN, GREAT PRICE"
Pros: This unit has everything: Sexy slim design, Multi color display, great reception, Home or Car use, Easy to install
Cons: No recording ability or internal battery for "true" Portability, Can't display channel, Artist and Song (only 2 at a time) , no way to silence beep for artist/song memory
Summary: This unit is truly amazing not to mention a great bargain. I got mine through the World Series game 1 offer for FREE (only catch is 12 month service agreement). I didn't even have to pay activation fee since I am a current subscriber, just switched radio IDs. This thing has great display with numerous color options. Reception is great at home, in the car, and at work. The set up took all of about 5 minutes which included hiding all the wires in the trim of my car and behind the floor trim at home. The favorite artist/song feature is great but limited to 20 entries. This option really made the XM service much more enjoyable since I hear more music I like. The remote is slim and sexy just like the head unit. Easy to use and not cluttered, but provides great control. The sports and stock tickers are great if you are a day trader or sports nut.
There are only three true complaints that can be made: 1) This unit does not have recording ability to make it truly "portable" so you can use it when you don't have reception. 2) Can't be used unless plugged into a base i.e. no internal battery or plugs are all on base) 3) No way to silence the beep that comes up for favorite song/artist option. This plays in because I like to listen to jazz when I sleep, not a good feature for it to beep loudly every so often.
I rated it a 9 out of 10 because you can't beat the price, especially if you get it for under $40 bucks. Be sure to get the remote and the home kit if you really want to enjoy your subscription. I even have a home kit at work!!! Sad that I spent so much on the Home kits. haha. I even set up my car steering wheel controls to control the unit via a special unit behind the dash. Overall this is a great unit at a great price if you shop around!!!!
