"Great step-up from Roady 2"
4.5 starson by schroedkPros: Great plug and play receiver, attractive
Cons: small buttons for big fingers
Summary: I purchased the Roady XT for my car and moved my existing Roady 2 into my wife's car. I ordered online, so did not even try it hands-on, but I have not been at all disappointed. Although the buttons can be small if you have big fingers, the XT is much easier to navigate while driving, since it doesn't use the jog dial. The backlighting is better at night, and it's nice that they have a "jump" and "search" button on the unit rather than just on the remote. Since I have my MP3 player running through the line-in on my head unit, I run the XT through its on-board FM modulator, which plays at every FM frequency so it's easy to find the right channel if you're driving across country. Sound quality through the FM modulator is very good, but please don't think it's going to be CD quality. To my ear, it's better than FM quality, but it's probably because there's no static issues; you either receive it or you don't. If you've been happy with your Roady 2 and aren't sure if the step up to the XT is worth it, trust me; it is.
