Delphi Roady XT (XM)

Pros: Easy to setup, great price, clear display, sports ticker, great reception both in the car and with the home kit

Cons: Have not seen any yet

Summary: I am new to satellite radio, so I did not know what to expect, but after purchasing the Roady XT I am very impressed. I was expecting the setup to take a while, but literally it was a matter of plugging the unit in, setting the FM frequency and it was up and running. Activation through the XM web site was quick and easy to follow.

While the directions state not to put the antenna on the dash and to mount it on the outside of the car, I found that not to be the case. I put a strip of Velcro on my dash and on the bottom of the antenna and I get perfect 3 bar reception. I have friends who have tried this with other radios and it did not work as well as it does with my Roady XT.

I would recommend the home kit for this radio. The home kit antenna is very effective. I was worried at first because the instructions stated I needed to place it in a south facing window and in my office my window faces the west. I was happy to say when I plugged in the antenna and faced it out the window I got three bar reception. I did experiment by placing the antenna in the middle of the room to see if it would work without a widow to direct it out of. In my testing this did not work and a window view is needed.
