Pros: Ease of use, display, price, home use.

    Cons: Car use, antenna installation.

Summary: Overall, in the home (w/optional home install kit), it is an excellent addition to any stereo system. Clear sound, solid performance, easy to use.

Unfortunately, I wanted this to be the primary player in my car. I had it professionally installed (which means the antenna). I don't think there is a problem with receiving reception from the satellites, but the problem comes from the FM transmitter. If possible, have it connect directly to your car stereo deck, do not rely on the FM transmitter. Using the FM transmitter, the sound quality is worse than local radio stations - lots of static, in and out performance.

I'll keep the player and the service, but need to find a better way to receive reception from the FM transmitter.

The owner's manual specifically states that the FM transmitter (using the antenna) will give the poorest audio quality. I use the cassette adapter and it sounds fabulous. I can crank the sound and it's as good as a CD. I guess there is a bonus for having an outdated stereo with a cassette deck in my car!

Simply find an unused FM frequency (sometimes hard to do in big cities) What appears to be static/noise/poor reception can be FM broadcast stations. Set up a couple of buttons on your car radio so you have alternate frequencies because moving from one location to another can increase signals from various FM stations.
