Cons I've had nothing but trouble with this receiver
Summary The receiver seems to last about a year then go bad. My sky fi 2 does not do that. The piliot lamps for the display go bad soon after.
The receiver sensativity must be lousy because where my new star mate is full scale & does not cut out for low signal
stay away from this receiver I did not know Kenwood would even sell something like this . -

Cons Burns its self up after a couble of years use.
Summary I purchased this unit 2 1/2 years ago. My first problem was with the display backlight. It quit working completely after 1.5 years prior to that it had been erratic. Finally the unit, which runs hot just quit putting out sound. The display still showed the station and even the title of what was playing, you just could not hear anything. This problem followed the unit since I have several docking stations.
Just to make matters worse when I called Kenwood about getting it repaired I was told that it is not repairable. If it was still under warantee (1 year) they would exchange it.
I thought Kenwood put out a quality product that would last for years, obviously this one was a mistake that I get to pay for. Now I am looking for a new unit and have the pleasure of tossing this one in the trash. -

Summary I ordered it expecting nothing much from it, but it truly surprised me. It has sound that mimics my OEM in my Audi. Crystal clear with the tape adapter.

Cons Unit does run hot... Aviod putting unit near tempered glass.. IE windshield... Variables outside with the direct inside heat can crack the pane or make it vulnearable, otherwise good unit
