"Great featureless player for less than $50"
Pros: small, versatile, rotary dial, fm transmitter
Cons: lacks song/artist seek feature
Summary: This is my 3rd Sirius plug and play receiver with my other 2 being the big bulky Audiovox PNP2 and the first Xact Jockey Streamer. And this is by far the better player of those 3 and I was able to grab the Visor for $29.99 at Best Buys on Jan 7th of 06.
No doubt this player is a featureless one and only comes with the ability to preset 30 channels which is more than enough. It does lack song and artist seek that Sirius offers with other players as well as a 44 minute buffer recording replay. The fm transmittor is very strong for this player and I get at least fm SQ if not better. It comes with fm frequency options including the 87.x ranges.
I got mine hardwired from a Best Buy guy on the side so the only wires showing are a few inches of the power cord and antenna going from dash to player. Almost anyone can find a suitable install place as this player is very versatile in that area. Mine is which arms reach and I love using the rotary dial on the side for quick station changes.
This player comes with a credit card remote that looks like it came from outerspace. Works very well as long as you have it pointed to the remote eye which is the piece sticking up near the back of player.
You can choose a scrolling screen of artist and song OR chose one or the other where no scrolling occurs. Overall I am super pleased with this little player and give it a 9 out of 10 rating based on price and what little features it offers. Well worth it!
