"Great receiver to get you in the door"
Pros: Price, Portability, Easy Mounting and Function
Cons: Cable Clutter and No Recording Capabilities
Summary: The Visor is the best Sirius receiver out right now for anyone curious about satellite radio and on a budget. I didnâ??t want to invest too much in Satellite radio because I wasnâ??t sure I was going to like it. But for the price of a dinner for two in NYC, itâ??s been well worth it. The XTR3CK Visor is a snap to install anywhere in your vehicle or home. In fact thereâ??s really no complicated installation involved. You either clip-it to your vehicles visor; suction it to a metal/plastic area or do a hardware install. It also includes a built-in FM transmitter to wirelessly rebroadcast to any nearby FM radio. Iâ??m currently rebroadcast Sirius stations to 88.1FM in NYC with outstanding results and quality. I also purchased the Home Kit, which comes withâ?¦ Docking Cradle, Antenna, Power adaptor and Swivel Base for the antenna.
The only downside to this receiver (and almost any satellite receiver) is the cable clutter. I ran and concealed the antenna wire successfully on my Hyundai Tucson up through to the dashboard with no problem. The only cable clutter left was the power adapter running to the cigarette lighter, which bothered me because I also needed the cigarette lighter adaptor for other uses, but I lucked out since my truck has multiple power outlets. I just cut and extended the XTR3CK Visorâ??s power adaptor with 22-gauge wire and ran it from the back power supply along the same path as the antenna wire. This freed-up my front power outlet and eliminated the cable clutter making me extremely happy with my purchase. There are no recording or MP3 capabilities on this unit and you canâ??t really expect it with such a low price tag. The remote controls infrared is kind off week also but I donâ??t see myself ever using it.
Canâ??t wait for Howard Stern to hit the airâ?¦
