"AM quality for $13 bucks a month"
Pros: Portable and clever design.
Cons: crappy grainy sound in the car/AM is better
Summary: The unit works fine in the home when hardwired to the audio outputs. The FM transmitter works ok in the home as well.
The sound quality of the built in automotive stereos is superior to any after-market unit I have heard. Some stations sound better than others and some music channels are so poor in quality that they are better off unheard.
The unit REQUIRES an FM modulator for automotive use if you are going to get reception of any value. Depending on your vehicle can cost upwards of an additional $90 in cables and adapters. The built in FM trnsmitter is lousy in the automotive application.
Overall summary. Disappointing sound quality for a sattelite receiver. Clever gadget for entry level in this market and it can help you avoid paying for a second subscription (after spending $50 on the home kit).

Maybe you got a bad unit. I found this unit easy to install and activate. The SQ is equal to my FM radio (which is a good unit) without direct wiring. I wouldn't waste my money.

If so, get the cassette audio adapter. Works great. No bleed from other stations.

all you have to do is switch the station through the menu options. you do not need an fm modulator. in most areas 88.5 works best and this unit is preset on 88.1. The Vosor is small and the reception is great as long as you're not obstructed like all others (xm or sirius). If you get this unit, have it installed professionally. It will look much better than rigging it up on your own and will only set you back an extra 50 dollars.
