The $199 ScanJet 4470c differs from the 4400c primarily in that it comes with a slide/photo-negative adapter; it also has more one-touch buttons, as well as a two-digit LED display. The 4470c's lighted slide adapter can scan multiple 35mm slides and scan and convert photo negatives. The 4470c's one-touch scan buttons can do everything that the 4400c's can, but they're also able to scan and upload images to a Web site, cancel a scan in progress, and bring up a scanning-options control panel.

On the downside, both scanners are backed by a rather skimpy 90-day warranty and 90 days of free telephone tech support.
