"Glitchy software hurts nice scanner."
Pros: Appearance; color slide performance.
Cons: Quirky software and poor instructions.
Summary: OK. I should have bought HP as I usually do. But... I liked the look of this scanner and the price was right (about $110 after some haggling) so I bought it at my local OfficeMax. I am using it with my cheap-ish Dell Inspiron 1150 (hardly a powerful machine) and am fairly satisfied now...BUT...installation was frustrating.
After two hours of near-crashes, blocked printer access, and weird messages like "Fatal error due to corrupt files" all in jargonese, I succeeded in getting things to work and scanning a 35mm slide and printing it. I have had several other scanners and all have been easier to use. By the way, the slide image quality is very good. To get a B/W scan of decent quality you have to fiddle with the settings a bit but all in all, the 9320 works, the CNET rating of 6.5 is pretty well right on, and yes, I'm still sorry I didn't buy an HP.
