Pros
after buying and returning a more expensive epson (2480) that did not work right out of the box and a usb powered canon that delivered poor images, I decided to buy the Microtek because of price (on sale with rebate $79.00 at Staples)and high resolution.
Cons
The only downside is the included photo software (ulead and Adobe photo shop 4.0 home)...good for a beginner(I guess) but a little awkward.
