"Okay Scanner, lousy software"
Pros: Slide scanning included.
Cons: The PaperPort software is lousy. It loads at least three dumb apps in the startup folder (watch your boot time slow down!). Plus it has some flakey issues with Winxp. Forget this thing. It stinks.

Pros: Interesting design, buttons are a snap, easy to set up
Cons: Image quality and color reproduction were marginal when it was new. Color reproduction has progressivly deteriorated to the point where although the scanner mechanically functions, I cannot use it. It's easy to accidently hit the buttons when loading the

"Easy, no problem setup and use (I do use XP)."
Pros: Easy to use. Great software package.
Cons: Paperport no very user-friendly. Does not give option of loading as needed. Configures for boot-up only, although you can remove from bootup sequence and then load as needed. Cannot seem to download One-Touch updates from website.

Pros: none, since I can't get it to work without errors
Cons: Tried using it on two different Dell desktops with Win XP and it never worked on either...tech support no help either. "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has caused an error" is what I get the moment I plug it in.
