"The BEST option for expanding ethernet over coax!"
Pros
This device is used to enter MoCA, which is Ethernet over Coaxial cable. What this means is that your install two of these devices (or more) and you can ethernet at every location in your house where you have a cable TV jack! They are easy to setup!
Cons
They are really not hard to configure, but some people are not gifted, so it can take a little time to get started. Keep in mind that if you cable company, such as FIOS, have provided you with an ActionTec ROUTER, then you only need one of these.
Summary
Ok, here is why they are so useful:
1) Easy configuration
2) You can have an ethernet connection (100BaseT) at ANY location in your home where you have a cable TV hookup. So you DON'T need to run ANY extra ethernet lines through your walls, etc.

2) You can have an ethernet connection (100BaseT) at ANY location in your home where you have a cable TV hookup. So you DON'T need to run ANY extra ethernet lines through your walls, etc.
3) FIOS, for example, provides you with one end of this if you have FIOS TV and FIOS Internet. So, if you are a FIOS user, this will already be setup and working for you. So you just need one ECB2200 PER eithernet connection you'd like to have where ever you have a COAX connection (e.g. cable TV wall plate...)
4) The device comes with one ethernet port, but you CAN hook up a small ethernet switch or hub to the device. For example, I have a Denon 3803 A/V reciever, a Sony ethernet enabled Blue Ray player, a Tivo, and a Sony ehternet enabled Flat Screen TV ALLL hooked up to one ECB2200. ...and it works great!
