Astonishingly Bad

Pros: Looks like a well thought out UI, nice colors and work flow oriented.

Cons: Difficult to nearly impossible to find, add, work with our otherwise use the program. I am a software engineer by profession and gave up on this program in about 20 minutes, it was that bad. I would recommend Picasa, or any other program.

Review: Find something else.

Difficult to learn with little free help available.

Pros: I don't really like it.

Cons: I agree with other reviewers that the interface is very hard to see. I haven't had any crashes yet but I have a very powerful computer.

Review: It is hard to find any help. Adobe claims to have all kinds of help, but you have to pay for it. Instead, I ordered some books from Amazon to try to learn it by myself. Without instruction, it is almost incomprehehesible.

BEWARE of crashes

Pros: I have used earlier versions of PSE because of the many features at a relatively low price, and for Adobe's reputation. PSE8 has even more features., but the cons far outweigh them.

Cons: It is drastically unstable and crashes.

Review: In my opinion Adobe has blown its reputation with PSE8. They never should have marketed this product without getting rid of all the bugs first. And to make matters worse, Adobe's support is dismal, both on-line and on the phone. In my case, organizer crashed and I lost countless hours I put in cataloging over 7000 photos. Since I've got to start from scratch I'll search for a differengt program. BEWARE OF PSE8

This program is more unstable than my cockeyed aunt.

Pros: The editor seems to work.

Cons: The organizer a\has many bugs. This product is very unstable.

Review: Haven't found anything to like about it. I loaded it on my computer and the organizer starts up, runs for a little while and then crashes. I started face recognition, it runs for a little while and crashes. I try to download pictures from my iphone and it gets a c0000005 error and crashes. I called tech support and it was a 1 hour wait time. I tried live chat and they said to call tech support. Bah. Wasted my hard earned money.

Graphical User Interface near unusable

Pros: I have heard it has a lot of powerful editing functions but I haven't had a chance to find this out on my own.

Cons: The GUI is near unusable.

Review: I just installed PSE 8 on my Windows 7 machine and my monitor has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. At this resolution the menu bar, various dialog boxes and user interface elements are so small that it's not practical to use. The interface colors offer very little contrast and there are numerous interface elements that are close to impossible to even see. Setting my screen resolution to a lower setting is not a good workaround as this lowers the quality of the onscreen elements so they look terrible, including the images I would like to edit. Looking at online forums, it is obvious this has been a user concern going back several versions. I cannot find anywhere on the Adobe website where they even acknowledge this is an issue much less any plan to address it. This is a mature program that gets lots of positive feedback for it's power and features but this usability issue is so significant that I can't even work in the program. I will try to return this product for a refund and if that is not successful, I have just wasted money on something I will rarely if ever use. Why Adobe has not addressed this problem is beyond me. I also ran into a problem where none of the selected tools would work on an image I was trying to edit. I had to restart Windows to get the program to function again. Extremely disappointed

Support deplorable, key features inoperative

Pros: Good Organizer

Cons: Support deplorable - 45 minute wait time, reps unknowledgeable, frequently hang up. Deletes imported contacts , inoperative incremental backup, Facial recognition only identifies faces about 65 % of the time.

Review: Buyer beware of this product - sereral problems and customer support is deplorable.
