Product fails after 18 months.

Pros: TV worked good for 18 months but then developed dark vertical lines. Not good.

Cons: Only last 18 months without problems.

We have enjoyed TV up to a couple of months ago,.

Pros: We now are seeing a dark line in the middle of our screen starting at the top coming down about 5 inches. I was blamed for cleaning it. Cleaned exactly same way I have many times before.

Cons: None really for the price. Compared side by side with Vizio and many others and was very comparable quality for price and size.

Review: Slight fuzziness on far sides, but overall very nice little TV for the price. Only now having a problem with a dark line. It is now two years old and wondering why the line.

Excellent resolution for the money

Pros: Ver Very low price

Cons: Speakers could be a little more powerful

Review: I purchased this TV 2 months ago and love it! It works great with my HD service and my Blu Ray DVDs look incredible. I wanted to take advantage of HD service but didn't want to break the bank so I looked at all the available TVs. My sister has a Samsung with 1080I resolution and I really cannot tell the difference other than the price. So far, the television works well and I am fully enjoying it and would recommend it to anyone who wants an LCD tv for a good price.

just right for the price - mine was named Symphonic

Pros: So far, function faultlessly.

Cons: Contrast is not great, but it's LCD

Review: I purchase my TV under the name of Symphonic. It was suppose to my bedroom TV and it ended up being my main TV in the living room. The black are not as black as it should be but that the trade off at this price point (purchased at Wal-mart year before last, Dec 2006 for $500, the day after Christmas) and the characteristic of some LCD. It's only 1:1000 contrast ratio. However, if the program is fully digital (HD content, the carrier is Broadcasting HD and the signal is a HD signal from cable or satellite box) the picture is unbelievable. I'm very happy with my choice. I will eventually put in the my bedroom and replace it for a bigger better one in the living room when I save up the money. All in all it is a very good TV for the money. My brother and his wife bought the Emerson one last year, Dec 2007, at Wal-mart for $570

Direct TV remote doesn't work with this TV

Pros: Beautiful picture

Cons: Have to use two remote controls w/direct tv

Review: Had this TV for about a month. During that time I've worked about 4 hours with the Direct TV people trying to get the remote control to work properly. Still have to use two remotes, one for sound and one for channel change. Everything else is fine.

Called the Emerson people and they just blew me off.

Not Pleased

Pros: Price and weight

Cons: Everything Else....

Review: I recently purchased this product from Walmart and quickly found several deficiencies.

First, good luck finding a Universal remote that is compatible with this product. I have several, and none of the codes work. This means you have to toggle back and forth between your signal remote and the TV remote....quite an inconvenience.

Second, limited features. There is no access to the audio features, such as bass, treble, balance, or even a basic tone control. I find this lack of function very annoying for an HDTV device.

Third, screen formatting. The sidebar, full, and cinema formats work fine. Once I tried watching "widescreen", the picture became distorted. Objects on either end of the screen would warp. This is most evident watching football, as you can clearly see the yard lines bend as they go to either the left or the right sides of the screen. I know this isn't a problem with the LCD itself, because there is no "warping" using the other formats.

Overall, I am not pleased with the product and I'm sure others will feel the same once they get over the savings.

Great Buy Low Budget Secret

Pros: Amazing HD picture

Cons: 1! HDMI input

Review: Was very surprised when I connected this TV to my HD DVR with HDMI. I had a Sanyo, Vizio and RCA. I was sceptical due to the brand name but kept looking at the picture in store at Walmart took a chance and appreciated that I took a chance. I had to change the color settings but it is amazing. Bad is 1 HDMI input

Don't throw your money away

Pros: Cheap for the size

Cons: Very poor picture

Review: I registered on CNET for the sole purpose of reviewing this LCD TV. Honestly, if you're like me and you were looking for an inexpensive LCD entry-level TV, and you happen to be looking at Walmart, FORGET about this one and just pay $100 more for the Vizio.
I bought the Emerson this morning and realized within 2 hours that I would be taking it back. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to see the HD image, because I don't have an HD converter yet. But the way I look at it, most channels still broadcast in SD right now...and the image for SD channels with this TV is just awful.
There is no clear definition with shades of black whatsoever, I was seeing a terrible rainbow effect in a basically grainy picture...but I think the worst was the impact on the sides of the image in wide, cinema, or full screen. Frankly, for a channel at a 4:3 ratio, it's just not worth watching anything on this TV in normal mode, so you'll always feel compelled to change the mode to full or widescreen. In widescreen, it's like watching TV through a crystal ball, with the sides of the image warping almost spherically.
Seriously: don't be taken in by the price. I paid $498 plus tax, and in a matter of hours I took it back to pay $598 for the Vizio instead. I'm watching Planet Earth on the Vizio right now, and it is a WORLD of difference. The normal 4:3 image may not be much better to watch, but the TV handles a widescreen mode so much better than its cheaper counterpart.

Good HD Entry Level Set for the budget minder buyer

Pros: 720p and 1080i, price

Cons: Minor picture defects, menu system

Review: This HDTV is a great option if you are a budget minded buyer and you are not overly critical of picture quality. The set has performed well for me, With the 1080i or 720P the HD picture looks great. The only problem with the picture is that it seems to be red shifted, the reds seem to really dominate the picture, but I have been able to adjust the picture options to correct it. The menu system is pretty lame, very simple and not very many options. But if you are not overly critical and want a cheap LCD than this set is for you. The standard def picture looks great and this is a true 16:9 set contrary to other reviews. Make sure to adjust the low def output to 480P and you will be very pleased. I have also played Xbox 360 in HD and it looks great in both 720P and 1080i. All in all I am very happy with the product considering what I paid for it ($498.00)

1# Hands Down In Price, Value, SIZE, & Quality

Pros: SIZE (32"), Price ($498 at Wal-Mart), Analog & Digital Picture Quality, Sound, HDMI

Cons: Few, Only that images near the last six inches of the left and right side borders are a bit fuzzy, however, the overall clarity is outstanding and the minor blimish is only noticable to a critical eye

Review: I did my homework and shopped around: Best Buy, Circuit City ... The closest thing to compare was a 26" Element at Circuit City for $499.99. When it came to quality there was no comparision. Trust me, I have worked in consumer electronics for several years now, try this tv, save your reciept, if you dont find it to be a steal, just take it back.

One of those products you take back to the store the next day.

Pros: 32" is nice to have.

Cons: Picture is fuzzy and pixulated with contrast problems.

Review: If you bought this television and you didn't return it, then you must be desperate to enter the market of LCD televisions. This Emerson HDTV seemed like a good buy [32" Widescreen LCD HDTV for less than $500 at Wal-Mart], but reality sets in quickly when you turn it on at home. This television is NOT a 4:9 ratio widescreen. It simply blows the picture up and compresses the sides in to fit the widescreen without touching the middle. This means that people look short and fat if they are not standing in the middle of the screen. Adjust the picure all you want, but you will still not be able to see things in shadows, and you will be dissapointed when moving objects have trails. You will then notice that even stationary objects can have halos or ghost images. And it actually looks like you have blown up a picture too far. All of that is in High-Def. Don't even try to watch something in Low-Def or even play a video game, because you may wind up cussing at the salesman who sold you this thing. Yes, buyer's remorse will set in very quickly. Even a tube set t.v. has better picture quality. I had to give this television a 2 out of 10. 1 point went to the fact that it has a 32" screen. And then other point is for the satisfaction and relief you feel when you return it to the store.

Great picture for the price

Pros: Great HD picture quality, Lots of inputs on the back

Cons: SD picture suffers, Dark scenes loose clarity, Simple menu system

Review: I bought this at walmart last christmas and I think it was a good choice, the picture quality is tremendous with HD reception and when using a progressive scan DVD player. Standard Def sufferes which is to be expected. There are lots of input choices on the back, I use both rgbypb inputs for the HD cable and my DVD player. There's also a HDMI, digital coax, video, and standard coax inputs. My model which matches the specs and model of the emerson tv reviewed here, for some reason has the brand name Symphonic on the front.
