Summary I bought my h1940 some time before the summer of 2003, and it's still doing its job well. Here's what I use it for:
Contacts, Schedules, Notes, To-do list, Portable photo album, MP3 player, Voice recorder, Video player*, Games, Reading, MS Word and Excel, and doodling pictures. It still does all of these things well.
It has no Wi-Fi, but it could connect to the Internet. It could, but it's too cumbersome. You could do it through ActiveSync. You could get a wi-fi SD card. You could connect to something else with Internet access via bluetooth, like a computer.
The audio port is one of those tiny 1/16" holes. You can't plug in your earphones without a 1/8" -> 1/16" adapter. It's not that big of a deal. Just leave the adapter on your earphones!
*You have to convert videos to .wmv or else find a 3rd party media player.
Pros Very handy due to light weight, clear screen
Cons screen cracked after 1 year, such a shame, had to upgrade to axim x30
Pros Small, light, what a pocket pc should be (wow a pocket pc that fits in my pocket). Bluetooth was convienent, and it held battery life pretty well. (I am a university student and I used it to type my notes for 3 hour lectures)
Cons Too fragile for real life, screen cracked after 3 months of use, make sure you buy accidental insurance on any warrenty!!!
Pros Bright screen ,fast processor
Cons Display screen will break under normal use conditions, bad cutomer service from Hp
