Warranty is no gaurantee

Pros: Get what you paid for

Cons: Warranty is not valid

Review: I bought this htib from Best buy on sale for $60 . Worked great for two months and then quit working. Took it back to BB and they said they cannot repair\replace it since its no longer in stock. They asked to me to put in additional money and buy another htib.
Seems like Insignia and BB sell off these defective units by putting them on sale. Then when the unit quits working , they will not support the warranty.

Lesson learnt: never buy a cheap brand just because it is on sale.

Serious flaws

Pros: Good sound, inexpensive

Cons: DVD player doesn't work, CD playback problems, surround sound cables too short

Review: I bought this system because it was the cheapest at Best Buy ($94) and I had been happy with my previous Insignia purchases (a CRT TV and a DVD/VHS player). However, I have been disappointed with this system.

After spending hours setting up the system (not easy or quick) and also finding out that the surround sound cables are too short for my (average size) room, my DVD player did not work properly. The screen would frequently go blank as it constantly detected my resolution (480p). I called Best Buy and they said to exchange it for another one, but I decided to just attach my old Insignia DVD player and use that instead.

Another flaw is that when you turn the system on, it automatically goes to DVD mode, even though the majority of the time I want to be in TV mode, and I have to slowly click through 4 options. I have also had some problems with CD playback.

Fortunately, the sound is pretty good, but I am still disappointed with my purchase, and I do not recommend this system.

Decent sound with no user-friendlyness whatsoever

Pros: Speakers produce heavy bass and are good for movies

Cons: Buttons on receiver do not respond immediately; remote shows lack of effort

Review: If you purchase this home theater system, beware. Although the sound quality is good, you will be getting a system that feels like it is not responding to you half the time. The remote barely works, unless you are fully aiming it at the receiver, but even worse, the buttons on the receiver do not respond immediately when you press them. Probably the most annoying thing for me is that if you are not in DVD mode (ie, you are in Radio or A/V mode), the play button or disc open button or any other DVD related button does not work. You have to switch to DVD mode first. This product was designed by a rookie. Do not buy it unless you have extreme patience.

Great Home Theater System!

Pros: Great sound, very powerful, and very customizable!

Cons: Does not remember what source you had it on the last time you used it!

Review: This is a great home theater system for a very low price... The only thing is that every time that you turn it on, you have to press the source button until you get to the source that you want. For example, if you have it on AUX 1, and you turn it off, the next time you turn it on, you have to press the source button until you get there, and it is slow! But, it is worth it. I have my TV audio and my laptop audio hooked into it. It has two audio inputs, which is great. Both of them are 5.1 surround inputs. I have two off these in my house, one in my bedroom, and one in my family room! Overall, this is a great deal and a great machine!

Get what you pay for

Pros: Good sound, good remote and features. AM and FM radio and 5 speakers

Cons: Too slow! Source option is way too slow. Could set up the DVD to work with my LCD remote. Couldn't find the product code.

Review: Good product but it could be better. Don't regret buying considering that I paid only $40!
