they won't stop charging my credit card!by frugalbrutus - May 5, 2008
Pros: nice if you like subpar software and being charged every year forever
Cons: they keep charging me after i cancelled
Review:
I generally have been a fan of microsoft products, but I should never have given them my credit card number. I signed up for Live One Care back when it was free for a year, then I let them charge me for another year. By then I had found free products to do the same things, only better. So I cancelled. Or so I thought. When the year rolled around, they charged me another 50 bucks. I called many numbers only to get the continual runaround. NOBODY could help me to re-cancel the service. Not surprising since they didn't cancel it the first time. So, i decided to let that credit card expire, and I did not renew it. Turns out that doesn't stop Microsoft either. They successfully charged an EXPIRED credit card! Unbelievable. So I cancelled the card. Now, another year later, they are SPAMMING me with notices that "we have been unable to charge your credit card for your Windows Live OneCare service". WARNING: DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO MICROSOFT!
