"terrible product, do not buy!"
Pros: fast scan speed, nice interface, easy to use
Cons: slows computer, crashes frequently, causes drive conflicts, slows internet to slower than dial up
Summary: I bought version 4.5, which has been working fine for me, when version 5.0 came out, I upgraded, but 2 days later my computer died (BSOD), I reinstalled windows and reinstalled spysweeper 4.5, had no problems for 9 months, I just upgraded to version 5.2, and yesterday got a BSOD error (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) Ever since upgrading I have barely been able to use the internet, it has slowed to slower than dial-up, if it even works at all (I have a 5 MB cable connection). Spysweeper is supposed to run automatically with windows, but half then time at start-up, it has an error and I have to restart the computer to get the program running. There is no way that I can recommend this product to anyone

After much research about which product to buy I opted for Webroot spy sweeper about one month ago.
Since then I have had nothing but problems.
I upgraded from 256MB RAM to 1.2G and still it seems that 100% of RAM is used by spy sweeper.
My computer hangs all the time, forcing me to reboot.
The fixes from tech support didn't work.
I finally just decided to uninstall it entirely . At least now my computer is working as normal again.
I don't know how this product keeps coming up at the top of the recommended list.
