I've learned to avoid generic computer parts after having so many OEM hardware glitches and failures, particularly in the realm of RAM. Granted, SD cards are flash memory, whereas most of my past woes involved DRAM modules, but you can't go wrong with SanDisk, one of the reputable flash memory manufacturers.

This is not a gadget so much as a thing that you stick in your gadget to upgrade it. That said, I'm using it inside a 6.1 megapixel digital camera that also shoots Quicktime movies, and it's doing a fine job allowing me to be a shutterbug with everything set on the highest resolution settings without worrying about capacity. Given the tiny size of SD, it and an adapter are scarcely larger than a USB keychain drive, so this card could double as one of those, but with a capacity greater than a CD--great for transferring things like 800 MB video files.

Data transfer speeds are pretty good, though I haven't done any benchmarks against other cards. I'm more happy about the fact that it does what it's supposed to do--hold a lot of data in a small package, and work right every time.
