Pros Tabbed Brousing, P2P, Loads of options
Cons weak p2p file sharing
Summary If you like IE, then you will love this as it is almost the same. The interface and look is identical with the exeption of a couple of extra icons on the menu which you can remove if they bother you. In fact I am not going to bother discusing the web brousing of this as it is (apparently) 100% compatable with IE meaning its the same. So I am going to discuss the extra or improved features.
Firstly the p2p filesharing. Its a fantastic idea to include p2p withing a web browser and as far as I know, no-one else has done it, unfortunately this feature is let down slightly. type in a name of an artist, you get a list but you'll be lucky if any of them download. This does not appear to be a bug but more lack of support from users. however when you are lucky enough to connect, the downloads seem to be a lot faster than any other p2p I have tried and I have yet to find a download the did not work, unlike other p2p's where half the stuff you download is currupted. The other thing I like about this p2p is that you dont have to load a seperate media player to play your downloaded files. Simply select the file you downloaded and press play an the integrated media player will play the file for you. In fact if it was not for the lack of support, this feature would better most p2p's on the market.
Secondly, theres the news feature which allows you to subscribe to rss news and view them. Nothing really speacial here, just slightly easier to use than the same feature in Outlook Express.
finally, most of the rest of the features appear to be things that have been improved over IE's equivelent such as a pop-up killer that also stops floating windows and also detects repeated popups from the same site, preventing it from going into a clicking frenzy like IE does. I brillient phishing alarm which detects phishing sites and attempted phishing and finally searching from the address bar with up to 4 different sites at once.
I would call this an internet suit with all the features of it but unusually in my opinion. A program which includes web browser, pop-up stopper, news browsing and p2p filesharing, supprisingly does not include email and download management. Add these features and improve the p2p and this program would get full 10 rating, but unfortunatly I can only give it a 9
Pros tabs that work, higher security settings than IE, control & settings
Cons doesn't work with all java based websites, some bugs [or added features], favourites aren't as customisable as IE 6.0
Summary I've tried all browsers listed with the exception of Opera... Deepnet is my browser of choice because I have never been able to configure Firefox to work properly with tabbing webpages. it loads fast & notifies you of updates when they are available. it has quite a few security features that are customisable: phishing alarm, content filter, cookie & proxy managaer are easy to find. clean-up function to delete temp files, cookies etc. it will stay resident in your systray when closed - one must acutally exit the app to completely close it. that can be a + or -, depending on your usage.
the one thing that really bothers me is that Ctrl F doesn't bring up the Find function but the rest of basic keyboard shortcuts work fine.
definitely worth a look if you are not satisfied with Firefox and all the updates it has gone thru since it was released out of beta and are disappointed with IE.
Pros tabs, groups, no BHOs, excellent pword manager
Cons none that bar me from using it as default browser
Summary I've been using DE for about a year. While I tried out its other components, I use only the browser function. Contrary to reports there is no problem using DE for Win updates - just nav to that page via bookmark. Best out-of-the-box password manager I've seen. Tab implementation is among the best I've tried - at least for my needs. Your mileage may vary. <g>
Pros too weak in comparsion with Opera or Firefox
Cons Based on bugged MSIE. -> Low security, bad interpretation of web standards, etc
Pros Based on Internet Explorer,BUT THIS BROWSER WORKS OKAY without any problems, and is faster than IE. Also it is not connected with Internet Explorer in any way. So far so good.
Cons None really except if you are used to chromium or flock, you may think it basic.
Summary Deepnet Explorer although it is made and modeled on Internet Explorer,it is nothing like it,as IE is very, very slow, but this browser is not. This browser has tabbed browsing like IE and toolbars such as file tab and edit and bookmark labeled tab,so it's easy to save and upload photos. True,Flock and Firefox also has this, although Google Chrome and Chromium do not,but Deepnet Explorer is useful here for sites on the web that are only compatible with Internet Explorer,or suppose to be. I have got a blog on Windows Live Spaces and it is here Deepnet Ex. is useful,as chromium and G. Chrome does not work well on this site and I cannot upload photos or embed my videos as there is no link in the Chrome browsers. I can do my blogging tasks with Flock and Firefox and can also browse through my Spaces blog quickly with these 2 browsers, but Windows Live sites are part of Microsoft. The same company who makes Windows and Internet Explorer,so I think windows Live is made to work with Internet Explorer, which I and a lot of people don't want to use.Because although I can do my blogging tasks with IE it is slow and crashes and there are other problems with it. So I and most people are reluctant to use it and this is where a browser like DEEPNET EXPLORER comes in. As it is modeled on Internet Ex. but works fast unlike IE,you can do all the tasks on Windows Live sites,Spaces and more but without problems. AND without having to use Internet Explorer,so Deepnet Explorer will work on all the IE sites made for IE. Do you follow? But also Deepnet is a good and fast browser and plays all flash videos as well. So this browser is worth getting if you need a browser where your other browsers do not work on certain sites and also it is a good browser in it's own right. Deepnet Explorer is a good alternative to the slow and backward Internet Explorer.Deepnet Explorer is in fact an older browser as it has not been updated since 2006 because they never had a follow up, and stopped making any more versions after this time. But do not let that put you off of using it. This browser is still supported on all sites including You Tube and My Space. Also there is a choice of 2 versions a standard version which is just the basic browser and rss feeds and an Advanced version. The advanced version has an rss new feed reader and a 2b browser that has media feed readers. I recomend you go for the advanced features to get all of the good features Deepnet Explorer has to offer. and it works with Google Talk video chat too. And as mentioned, although this browser does not have a 2010 version, because they have not made anymore versions after 2006,it is still supported on all sites,as is Aol Explorer another browser that was last updated in 2006,but after that time they stopped making. So deepnet Explorer can be used for all tasks.
