Since we last reviewed this online photo site, Snapfish has made some big improvements. Its interface is still as cuddly and orderly as ever, and its once hum-drum editing functions, print processing, and Internet-based storage and sharing have all gotten a major overhaul. The result? Snapfish is closing in on our current photo-storage site of choice, Ofoto.

Make one-touch tweaks with Snapfish's handy editing tools.

Like its competitors, Snapfish does not require a download or an installation. Just go to the site and enter your name and your e-mail address. Then choose from two ways of uploading photos. One is to upload up to 12 images at a time from your hard drive. The other is to install the Drag And Drop tool and drag your pics from your drive to the site's photo-upload preview area, which is in your browser. After either process, click Upload Photos to send them to your album. Snapfish will let you upload TIFF, GIF, and BMP images in addition to JPEG files. Both approaches worked flawlessly in our tests, though we did experience a slow upload from time to time.

If you need to clean up your shots, simply download Snapfish's editing utility, which features effective tools for one-touch color correction, red-eye removal, and quick crops. You can also make fast fixes, add captions, and organize your photo library using Snapfish's online tools, which work quite well. We especially like the site's excellent print preview, which shows exactly how your image will be cropped for printing, and the well-organized user-account page, which lists credits, orders, and other account information.

To invite others to view your Snapfish photos, click a photo or an album, select Share from the right-hand menu, enter the recipients' e-mail addresses, and compose a message. If there's a particularly embarrassing image that you don't want anyone to see, you can restrict access to it. Click Send, and within minutes, your friends receive a fun, colorful invitation to check out your pictures. Once they click through to the Snapfish site, they must enter their own names and e-mail addresses before they can view your shots.

Snapfish's print quality ranked among the best in our tests. Standard print prices are a bit on the high side--39 cents per 4x6 and $3.79 per 8x10--but you can buy prepaid bulk packages that reduce your costs to as low as 25 cents per 4x6.

Support is well integrated into each step of the registering, uploading, and printing process. Snapfish's online FAQ is excellent, and if you can't find what you're looking for in there, e-mail support is superb. Customer service is also available by telephone Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

Never had a problem with orders. Using SF for 4 years.

Pros: Easy to understand. The Help section is very detailed and is actually helpful.

Cons: Receive too many promo emails.

Review: I have ordered many gifts from Snapfish...several of which arrived within 3 days. I'm not very experienced in the computer/photo/upload thing, but after following the steps, I've never had any problems.

Charged my checking account for services I didn't want

Pros: That I could order my prints and pick them up at a local store

Cons: I contacted the company about the charges to my account for services I didn't request. They told me I must have"accidently" requested it and was not due a refund. I would not "accidently" select yes to have money removed form my account.

Review: Poor customer service.

Order never arrived - no explanation offered

Pros: Good selection of photo albums and calendar templates

Cons: Orders get cancelled without warning, absymal customer service

Review: Placed a calendar order 3 weeks ago - and it was confirmed by snapfish. Anytime I checked the status of the order, it showed up as under processing and gave an estimated ship date. One fine day, I receive an email saying my order was lost and they would be issuing a refund. The three weeks I lost were precious since the calendar was meant as a gift for someone.

They had absolutely NOTHING in way of any explanation - except that they lost the order - and would be willing to offer me a 20% discount on my next order.

Have you ever eaten at a bad hole in the wall - gotten sick - and had no recourse since no one there grasped the concept of customer service? This is the online pictures equivalent of the hole in the wall...

STAY AWAY FROM SNAPFISH...!

Pros: umm?can?t think of any! Well, the collage print I ordered was nice.

Cons: VERY BAD customer service-Quality on travel mug sucks-too pricey- hate you can NOT Choose picture order when making collages

Review: Probably shouldn?t right a review when you?re mad, but here goes?WHY DO THEY FARM OUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE, you can?t even understand these people!
I wish I would have read the reviews before I ordered! I got sucked in by the $25 restaurant coupon?now I guess I shouldn?t have assumed, but these restaurants are NOT chain companies which I found weird. ON TOP of that?they send you an email have you go to restaurant.com and see what is available. I can tell you, not much, to top it off, listen to this; there are STIPULATIONS to using the GC. You have to spend way more than the GC, tell you what you can or can NOT drink, and hit you with 18% gratuity, NOT A CHOICE. It?s all typed in red on the GC, and OH, did I say, you have to print it out yourself, how cheap is that!?! DO NOT USE SNAPFISH?I would recommend to USE SHUTTERFLY, OFOTO, OR IF MAKING A BOOK MIXBOOK IS A SUPER COMPANY. I ordered a travel mug with collage pix on it, you can NOT choose the order of your collage pix, and not only is it a piece of junk, the rubber bottom piece won?t stay on, the lid won?t open, the handle is flimsy, and the pix on the mug has little bubbles in it. What a waste! I bought it as a gift for my husband, and I really hate to give it to him.
STAY AWAY FROM SNAPFISH if you want good quality, and reliable service!

Not a member

Pros: Not a member

Cons: Not a member

Review: Snapfish charged my credit card for charges I did not incur. I am not a member of snapfish, I've never used their services and in fact never knew of them until today. I called CC and I really did not get much help! I'm very angry at this. Can't they stop the transaction from going through somehow? My bank cannot do anything until the transaction goes from pending to complete. This makes me mad!

terrible customer service

Pros: Easy to use and the prints turn out great. They have frequent deals and promotions, so it's easy to get cheap prints.

Cons: They add you to their mailing list and there is no way of unsubscribing. You will receive tons of offers.I've been in touch with their customer service three times about getting off their list and they have yet to do it.

Review: Be wary about signing up with snapfish. The site is relatively user-friendly and easy to figure out, but my friends and relatives don't like it because they have to sign in and create an account to see my images. Also, the customer service is very unresponsive and unhelpful. Give them an email address you don't use or you'll be inundated with offers, and there's no way of unsubscribing, even if you contact them directly. Overall I regret uploading all my photos with them and wish I'd chosen a different service.

great selection and coupons can be used!

Pros: Prices are good, customer satisfaction is also very good.

Cons: ability of their customer service people to understand me. Many middle eastern accents and they just don't understand my problem a lot of the time.
But in the end it works out.

Review: awesome products!, that turn out really cute! I'm a big fan of Snapfish and you can always find a coupon, I like that too!

Useless customer support

Pros: If all goes well, the arrival of prints is accpetable

Cons: If something goes wrong (like they billed my credit card for a non order and won't communicate or agree to make a refund, though I never made an order at all) you have no chance of getting a reply.

Review: I will not be using them again, they owe me a credit card debit I did not authorise, I suggest you do NOT let them store your credit card details.

Updated on Oct 23, 2008

I must add that eventually, after getting quite fierce with them, they agreed to refund the credit card, so all is well enough but I am not going to let them store my credit card details any more.

Low quality customer service and product quality

Pros: I put together a photobook, the process was relatively simple at first.

Cons: I ordered two pictures books and the products they sent me were not what I had ordered. They failed to respond to my request to send me the CORRECT items.

Review: The customer service both via phone and e-mail are even more frustrating than receiving the wrong product, because they were not helpful in anyway whatsoever. I ended up keeping the wrong merchandise because it was more of a hassle to try and correct the situation.

I will never shop at Snapfish again, and I encourage others to do the same.

Poor quality control -- again!

Pros: Being able to upload a photo instead of standing in line at a store.

Cons: POOR quality control, substandard photo paper, weak customer support, problems uploading photos, slow turn around time.

Review: My recent order for change of address photocards is being return due to poor quality control. The text on the cards is cut off leaving the information unusable. There was plenty of room to print the text. Customer service is outsourced to India so they are not fully vested in the customer's satisfaction. This is my second order & I have received poor quality both times. Spend your time & money elsewhere.

The worst service ever.

Pros: Prices are OK.

Cons: Unresponsive customer service

Review: After spending over 20 hours on building a photo book project on Snapfish in Winter of 2007, my access to all projects (including that one) was suddenly frozen. No one responded to my pleas for help, and I had to reload all of my pictures onto Shutterfly, and start over again. Shutterfly was much better, and I have now created dozens of books with them, with no problems. I have continued to write Snapfish (probably 7 times over the past year), and still no one has fixed this problem. In fact, I have NEVER gotten a human response. (only the automated response that they will answer me in 48 hours, which has never happened.)

This has been a very frustrating experience!

Worst company I've ever dealt

Pros: They apologize very well - don't correct the problem - but apologize very well

Cons: The worst customer service in the history of customer service

Review: I tried to use them 2 years in a row for a big project - they mangled the orders - worst episode - I paid by check - they used half the money from the check - put half on account then billed half again on my credit card - customer service is not able to refund the overcharges - customer service has no authority to do anything other than apologize profusely in a language that may be English and then tell you they will refer the matter to "Level 2" which has no phone number or direct email address. They may or may not respond to an inquiry. HP should be ashamed to have such a horrid company under their corporate banner.

14 days to Ship. 7 Posters Low Res Print from high Rez email. Yuk!! Yuk! Yuk!

Pros: The estimated delivery date is estimated. Just ask them, 2 days means 10!

Cons: Since it is promised for Christmas, Delivered 7 days after Christmas, Yuk Prints

Review: Snapfish, My Gosh, I hoped for more.

Quality 4 out of 10, Flunk . Good Paper, bad Printing.

Information 0 out of 10, Total Failure, "I don't know when your photo will be done, that two day estimate is just and estimate".

Process from order to Ship:10 days= 1 out of 10, Flunk, 1 only because they did ship it, It would be 0 if they lost it completely.

I usually print color at Costco, they use Fuji Frontiers machines and provide you with Printer Profiles so you can print exactly what you see on your screen. Needless to say, photos are always phenomenal. Plus the employees at Costco have are always helpful, provide accurate information and my favorite, if they don't know something, they will look into it and call you with the best information they can find.

Costco Rocks, Snapfish Sucks!

Snapfish, lets
I usually print at Costco.

What makes this a wonderful b&w photo is the shadow detail. Sent in a black and white image 30X20 inch 300dpi image using their email as the upload program limits the file size.

The images look like they have been down-sampled and someone decided to play with the histogram. Maybe an auto levels adjust.

The result is a photo that looks like it was reduced to a 6 level of gray gif.

Does NOT uphold to their promise of photos

Pros: ease of upload

Cons: no pictures..charged my credit card

Review: I wish I had read the reviews of Snapfish before I ordered. My pictures were supposedly shipped out on 12/05/07 and charged to my card. I opted for the 5 business days. It's now 12/28/07 and no pictures. Talked to customer service on 12/27/07 and "they" said my pictures were at their warehouse and would be shipped out immediately at no charge....Overnighted.
Huhhh...no pictures and no website to share with family...just a charge to my credit card! They ripped me off..

Total Failure Promised delivery by Dec. 24, Dec 26, not shipped yet!

Pros: They don't supply a something we cannot live without.

Cons: Not trustworthy, total failure to deliver per contract.

Review: The add reads:(valid 12/18 only) Get expedited shipping upgrade on orders placed on Dec 18th to ensure delivery by Dec 24th.
I ordered on Dec. 18 Order#22398089

I was told that the shipping date is estimated, I can have a refund, they cannot say when I will receive my order. $68 charge will be refunded.
I do not want the money, I want the Christmas gifts I ordered for Christmas eve.

The word ensure does not mean estimated in my dictionary. Here is the email from Snapfish, "Thank you for calling in reference to your order we have received your request for a refund do to your order not being shipped by date requested Per your request"..

How Snapfish ruined my Christmas...seems to be a popular title this Holiday season.

Cons: everything... they've done nothing for me!

Fast processing and shipping and good customer service

Pros: Easy to use interface; error-free uploading; good customer service

Cons: friends have to sign up with Snapfish just to see my photos online

Review: I've used Snapfish for three years now and have not yet seen any problems or defects with my prints. The uploading interface and online editing tools are good and the processing and shipping have been fast each time.
On one occasion, an order had not arrived ten days after Snapfish said it would so they sent me another set of photos which I received a couple of days later. Fifteen days after that, the original order showed up. By the postmark date (same date as what Snapfish said it was mailed on) and the condition of the package it had apparently been lost by the USPS and was not Snapfish's fault. And despite the beat-up packaging none of the photos were damaged.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

Pros: CHEAP PIRCE

Cons: SHIPPING SLOW/ NON RESPONSIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Review: I made about 25 different orders(free shipping) about 20 pictures in each. I received about 2 orders 2 weeks later , which is out of their 3-5 days of "delivery" AND when I called , they give me a different answer every time , claiming usps make take up more than 2 weeks because it takes then 2-3 days of processing time on top of their 7-10 business days or they have different warehouses. This is bunch of crap, some of my orders arrived while others are no where to be found... and the worst is I ordered everything the same time.

Not worth the trouble, there are better services out there

Pros: lots of options, easy to use, group rooms are great!

Cons: site is often really slow and/or down, horrible customer service, they 'accidentally' delete your free offers, worst of all they deleted a photo album I'd been working on for months.

Review: There are so many other services out there that it's just not worth fighting with Snapfish. More and more I've been frustrated with their site always being down and their horrible 'help' section and even worse customer service. But the nail in the coffin was their latest 'upgrade' they deleted any memory book/photo albums that people were working on and offered no compensation at all. I was working on a wedding album for months and now it's gone - along with all the photos I had selected to use with it. My family all used this service to share our photos and it's gotten so bad we're switching to someone else from this point on, it's just not worth it anymore.

I'm very unhappy

Pros: nice photo albums

Cons: very slow uploads

Review: Hi. No matter what I do, my uploads to Snapfish are so slow, that I'm basically giving up. I do love their products, and have been happy with every item I've ordered, but it is not worth the frustration of dealing with a website that is obviously so 'overloaded' that it cannot respond to timely uploads--a very sad thing when that is the business of the website. Their "Picture Mover" tool is also worthless...I've loaded and deleted three times--keep getting the error message from Snapfish, "We do not see an internet connection". I'm DSL and on at all times. I've had no response from customer service.

Slow, Slow, Slow

Pros: Cheap Prices!!!

Cons: Uploads are unreliable

Review: I've used Snapfish for years, but find their service to be very uneven. Sometimes uploads are easy and fast, but often they are not. Sometimes their mailings are fast, but this summer they've been quite slow. I suspect they've been a little too successful of late.

Poor response

Pros: a cheap service

Cons: nonresponsive

Review: It is noted that in the last few years most readers of this site rated snapfish a 1 or 2. While the idea was originally sound, the lack of meaningful response from customer service, coupled with long delays in obtaining the actual product, have hurt this company's image. The company has forgotton who its customers are.
Specifically, when an order is placed, even if its own promotional offers are not adhered to, when a charge card is entered, the order is "locked in". It may not print for 3 days, but since it is in the "automation process" it can't be changed. What rubbish.
You can get better service at a CVS or Walgreens. At least there you deal with humans, not automated/canned responses.

Burned and learned

Pros: member of fatwallet

Cons: too numerous to mention

Review: I placed an order on 1/15 and chose standard delivery as the site states clearly that standard shipping is 3 to 5 business days. When 6 business days had passed, I inquired as to the status of my order. I received a canned reply that stated I would receive my order "within 10 business days." This makes a huge difference in my decision to order from any company or the method of shipping I choose. If it is advertised and stated, I assume it to be true and trust that the company I am ordering from is accurately representing itself, its policies and products. I was originally going to order from Shutterfly, but went with Snapfish because it is a name I am more familiar with. The standard shipping statement on the site is blatantly untrue. Had it said "up to ten business days" I would have chosen another method of delivery. But it doesn't and now I've paid for something I don't have in the time it was promised. AND 10 "business days" business days later, have still not received.

To add insult to injury, I sent a reply to Snapfish stating the above inaccuracies and my frustration on 1/25/07 and received no response. So, as well as promising inaccurate delivery times, customer service, in my experience has been unhelpful and non-responsive. This is my first order and will be my last.

Stops communication, refunds less than you paid

Pros: They are cheap

Cons: Absurdly poor customer service

Review: Snapfish looks promising on the surface, but please, if you value your images, avoid them at all costs.

I sent them film - yes there are a few of us out there still! The prints came back poorly done, so I was instructed by Snapfish to return the negs AND prints for reprinting. I did. They refunded only part of my total and told me to reorder the pictures from their website. The refund didn't cover doing that, so I asked them via email just to reprint the order. They stopped responding and they still have my negatives. It's been weeks.

How does a company with such lousy support stay in business?

Pros: Fast Service

Cons: May delete your account whenever???

Review: I had just signed up with Snapfish a few months ago because I just had a baby. I had ordered prints a few times...the first set came out great, but then the second and third came out blurry. I had used the same 5 mega pixel camera all 3 times. Anyways, I tried to sign in today to upload more pictures and I get an error message saying that there is...NO ACCOUNT UNDER MY EMAIL ADDRESS!!! All of my newborns pictures were on that account!!! I kept his very first pictures on the memory stick, but all of the other pictures are GONE!!!

Awful Service - Did Not Fulfil Order - No Response

Pros: No Pros If You Can Not Get A Product After You Pay For It!

Cons: No Customer Service At This Company

Review: I ordered about $175 worth of Calendars etc for Christmas Presents on Dec 13 just in time for their Guaranteed Christmas Delivery.

No communication to me at all about when it will be delivered the website said estimated ship date Dec 19th. I emailed Cust Serv after that date for tracking number.

I received an email on Dec 26th stating that I may not receive some or any of my order by Christmas which is a little late to let me know this.

I have sent several email very slow response still with no real information. Last I part of my order shipped Dec 23, I still don't have it.

I have asked for a complete refund and no response yet. They have $175.00 of my money and my family does not have Christmas presents to open.

I will not use this service again and I hope you don't think service will be better for you as I confident it won't be.

decent product, bad customer support

Pros: online tools, product options

Cons: terrible customer support

Review: My wife and I were very excited about Snapfish, but will never order from them again. We ordered photo books of our wedding from Snapfish as Christmas presents, and were pleased with the process of designing the books online. We placed the order in early December, but by a week after the promised shipping date it still had not arrived. I called and was promised that the shipment would arrive by the 23rd. That was no good, since we would be out of town by then, so the Snapfish rep said the he would change the shipping address to the address of my family where we were spending Christmas. The 23rd came and passed with no delivery, so I called again. They had not changed the delivery address, and had delivered it to the original address. I had to have a friend retrieve it from our front door and overnight it to us.

The phone reps in both cases were impatient and unhelpful. The first rep promised something (changing the shipping address) that he did not do. The second rep barely seemed to be able to hear me over the noise of several other reps impatiently dealing with other customers. He kept saying, "It's been delivered! Look outside!" and trying to get me off the phone. I had to repeat my question "Where has it been delivered? What address?" several times before I got the answer. At one point I heard a woman in the background yell out, "I'm tired of dealing with these damn people on the phone!"

Snapfish seems promising, but they don't have their act together well enough for me to bother with them again, especially not for anything that needs to be delivered on a deadline.

Don't trust Snapfish for your holiday

Pros: interesting logo

Cons: cannot trust them for anything

Review: ordered several holiday calendars for Christmas gifts 12/7/05 with a 12/17 expected ship date. Received my first email 12/20 indicating they may or may not complete my order in time. This was a generic email and NOT specifically about MY order. This email said they ARE "working day and night to
fulfill all orders and get them delivered to you by December 24th, including expediting shipping free of charge."

Next email received Friday before Christmas 12/23 syas nothing about MY ORDER and nothing about the expedited shipping. The email simply says "it's possible some or all of your order may not arrive in time."

So now, do I buy MORE presents to replace these? How do I know??? Snapfish knows NOTHING about my order and has provided ZERO help to me.

I will never use them again.

Do not use Snapfish

Pros: cheap but you get what you pay for

Cons: unreliable shipping, poor quality prints; customer service

Review: Snapfish took almost one month to deliver my memory book order. There was no communication from snapfish that the order would be delayd and no response to the emails that I sent to their customer service.

The print quality on the book was poor and there were lots of artifacts in the photos.

There are better online photo services to choose from. Do not use Snapfish if you want good quality and reliable service

I'd never pay to use them again.

Pros: occasional specials. Quality paper and speedy delivery.

Cons: Many prints came back dark and badly cropped.

Review: I tried them out because they offered 36 prints free with free shipping. It was a steal!

The prints I got back, However, were dark and badly cropped. (you get what you pay for?) Your miliage may vary. When I got those prints, I just said 'thanks for not taking my money' and then swore to never use them again. Now I have a Wallgreens down the street that'll do the job for 15 cents a print and they'll do small orders while I wait.

On the positive side, placing the order seemed easy and it shipped pretty quickly.

The prints really were darker than I wanted. I have used 3 other services and they never had that problem. Maybe my experience was a fluke, but before you use this service for something important, try them out with a small order, first.

Cons: Never delivered

Review: I ordered some calendar gifts from Snapfish some weeks ago. They managed to debit my credit card the same day as the order, but haven't yet managed to deliver anything.

I plan to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Beautiful prints & easy to use for newbies

Pros: great uploading tools, greeting cards and gifts, gorgeous prints, best prices

Cons: the website is designed in bright silly colors

Review: I'm new to digital photos and did a lot of research. I was really struck by snapfish's ABOUT US description, which shows their employees with their families. I felt that I could trust them with my photos and I wanted to give them my business.

Fortunately, I had a great experience and will continue to give them my business. The photos were easy to upload even for a newbie like me. The tools made it easy to add cute borders and organize my photos. It uploads very quickly if you don't need huge poster-size prints (it's still high-res). I shared the photos in albums with my friends by simply emailing them. Snapfish maintains your address book so you don't have to keep searching for your friend's email addresses.

The print prices were spectacular. So much cheaper than my local stores and much more convenient. When I received the photos, the quality was outstanding.

This week I am going to order my New Year's greeting cards with photos on them through Snapfish. This site is a gem!

By the way, I heard about this site in the first place when I saw in the news that Snapfish was donating prints to Hurricane Katrina victims who had lost photos in the floods! I like supporting companies such as these.

Unordered Prints, Excellent Quality, Expensive Shipping

Pros: Quality Excellent, Shipping Fast, Many Options, Easy to use Site

Cons: Shipping Costs, Customer Service, Unordered Prints

Review: This company has fantastic prints at a good *upfront* price. I was excited when I bought 1000 prints for $100 prepaid. I became engaged in Hawaii and had about 350 photos from the 3 weeks I was there.

I decided to try Snapfish out. Their website is great - easy to use, tons of options, real easy to understand. I prepaid for my prints and ordered them. Then, I got hit with a $35 shipping charge for 350 prints. Now all of a sudden, the photos are more like .20 cents a print; still not bad, but not what you expected.

I can live with that. Then, I get the photos in the mail. They look great! Quality really excellent. Unfortunately, all 350 prints are completely out of order. They arent' even roughly ordered. I don't think I had two in the right direction. I called Snapfish and complained, and the lady told me I should go to the site, look at the pictures in the order I uploaded them, and rearrange them.

In the end, I had to do this, and it took me almost 3 hours to organize all my photos properly, a job that should've been 20 minutes.

Snapfish is probably OK if you are ordering less than 50 prints at a time. I will have to experiment with some other companies. Sharing photos online is really easy as well though.

Their customers service is attrocious. When I had the issue with the prints out of order, I had originally asked for a refund. She said I would have to mail all the photos back and then request a refund. It wasn't worth the shipping costs in the end - I will use my 1000 prints and probabaly try something else.

Good pictures but outlandish shipping charges.

Pros: Good pictures + quickly shipped.

Cons: Shipping charges enormous, appear to be based on dollar amount of order, not actual size & weight of shipment.

Review: Snapfish does nice prints from uploads from your computer. They even have a software download to speed up the process of uploading your pictures to their site. The prints are great, but the shipping charges are outlandish and are so out of proportion to the size of the packages and the weight of the package that I would not use Snapfish again.

Beautiful prints + best prices + best tools!

Pros: Cool borders & products, backed by Hewlett-Packard

Cons: New tools are perfect but old ones were stodgy

Review: I've used snapfish for years without any problems except for a crappy upload tool.
Now they have a really nice slick upload tool (you can also upload by sending an email) and they have a slick slideshow presentation for your prints.

Now that they're owned by HP, I feel they are even more trustworthy. On top of that, they have the lowest prices. Also, they use the silver-halide process, which is important to me as a photographer because this makes for outstanding photo quality. They also print on Kodak paper.

I also use snapfish to send cards (by choosing a photo and making it into a greeting card through the website). This makes for a very thoughtful card. For example, I send a thank-you card showing me using a house-warming gift. The price is the same as you would pay for an impersonal cheesy card at the drugstore. Grandma loves the photo postcards too.

Also, snapfish has some awesome borders that you can add for free around your photo (unlike ebay, which charges 10 cents to add a border to your auction!). They have some very cute ones and some very elegant. Try the scrapbook corners!

I am a Big Fan of this Website

Pros: Love having easy access to all of my pictures, and can easily create gifts such as calendars and photo books, as well as order copies.

Cons: Occassionally run into sluggish site, which takes more time.

Review: I have really enjoyed using this site. Every Christmas we make calendars of our son for his grand parents. The cropping tools have really helped us in turning our pictures into great shots that we frame. I buy pre-paid photos and this has saved us a lot of money. It was perfect for ordering shots for our baby announcements, and much less expensive than photo announcements. Having all of our pictures stored in one place (other than the un-organized shoe boxes stored away!) has helped give us easy access to the pictures we need. I love this site and have recommended it to many people.

Poor Quality of Pictures, Pictures were sent out of order, one picture was missing (127 out of 128).

Pros: Cheep Price, but unfortunately very cheep quality

Cons: very very poor quality

Review: I found snapfish web service by browsing through internet and noticed the price is so cheep and now I understand why. I have received my pictures (127 out of 128) and the colors are unacceptable and awful. All faces are extremely red and the backgrounds have too much red color. The pictures are arrived in 3 packages and all out of order. For example there are couples of pictures from New Years event between the series of pictures that was taken from a trip to SF. Then I found few more of New Years event between the pictures of a birthday party and so on… The qualities of the pictures are terrible and very poor. I have used Ofoto in past and the quality of their pictures are by far better than Snapfish. I will never use their service again. I have wasted my money and my time. I am not happy at all. I have to redo all these pictures through Ofoto again. I will not recommend them service to anyone. I'll try to get every penny of my money back.

300 copies of 200+ images delivered in random order - no help from customer service

Pros: decent quality prints

Cons: 200+ different images (8 months of life), came delivered randomly, even multiple copies of the same image were not together

Review: I uploaded over 200 digital photos to snapfish, and placed orders for over 300, covering the fist 8 months of my daughter's life as well as the funeral of a recently decease family member. I uploaded them carefully into albums, by date, so that I could track them, and then placed my order by album, again in order. I assumed that, rationally, the photos would come in some reasonable order.

Here was part of my email to customer service "To my great dismay, what I got was 300+ prints scattered in 4 different envelopes in COMPLETELY RANDOM ORDER. Yes, that is right, 2 prints of one coffin (taken 3 weeks ago), followed by may baby at 4 months (4 months ago), then my older daughter, then 1 more of the same coffin picture, and a couple more of the coffin, followed by my baby at the hospital after her birth (last December), etc etc etc.

RANDOM, both in terms of groupings (all copies were NOT together) and in terms of DATE ORDER!!!!

THIS is unacceptable to me. What did your team do for the $18 handling charge - drop them all on the floor and then gather them up????? "

And here was Snapfish's response: >>>>>>>>>>>>

Dear N T,

We are sorry, but we have no way to guarantee the order in which your prints will be packed into the prints envelopes. Unfortunately, the order of photos in your online account has no bearing on the order that the prints will be in when your order arrives.

Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience on this matter.

If you have any other questions, please reply to this email.

Sincerely,

Alan Snapfish Customer Care >>>>>>>>>

Customer Care? It is completely impractical to try and sort 300 prints back into 8 months of order, particularly when multiples of the same picture don't even arrive together. Perhaps this is standard fare for the online photo developers, but it is completely pathetic in terms of customer experience.

Perhaps this will help someone else avoid a very frustrating experience. Go to Costco, pay $.16/copy (uploaded online or dropped off in the store), and they'll be beautiful quality in less than 1 hour!

Item never arrived, customer service won't even respond

Pros: There are no pros

Cons: Expensive shipping, item never arrived, no customer service

Review: I have placed two orders with Snapfish (both "gift orders" of mugs with pictures on them). The first order was a birthday gift for my Mother, and I placed the order two weeks in advance. By the time her birthday came, the item still had not arrived. I contacted customer service, and received a very nice response. They agreed that the item should have arrived, and they said they were willing to re-ship the order. I decided to wait a few days before asking them to do that, and the item did finally arrive almost three weeks after being shipped. I was upset that the item didn't arrive on time, but after the nice response from customer service, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and I tried to place another order.

This time, I placed an order for three mugs and two mouse pads to be shipped to Japan. I have placed many on-line orders from US companies to Japan, and with the efficient US / Japanese postal services, things usually arrive promptly. Gymboree is extremely efficient, and usually arrives 3 days after placing the order. Amazon, BHPhoto, and others usually take no more than a week or 10 days at the most.

Two weeks after the supposed ship date, I contacted customer service to find out why the item had not arrived, and I was told that it takes up to six weeks for a package to arrive in Japan via air mail. That is a ridiculous assertion ... even surface mail almost always gets here in less than six weeks, and I have never had anything sent via airmail take longer than 10 days. The shipping charges were very high ($40) ... high enough that it could have been sent Global Express Mail which takes only two days.

Anyways, there didn't seem to be much that I could do, so I patiently waited for the six weeks to run out and the item still has not arrived.

I have sent four messages to customer service (all mostly polite and the last three begging for at least an acknowledgement that they received my message). The first message was sent 10 days ago. All I have received in response is their automated email saying that I should receive a real response within 1-2 days. My spam filter is turned off, so I know that they have not responded.

I'm not sure what happened to their customer service, but I am no longer giving them the benefit of the doubt. I will avoid their service like the plague, and I am now contesting the charges to my credit card.

Next time I will stick with Ofoto from whom I have always received stellar service. (their website says that international orders take 4-8 days to arrive!!!).

Snapfish lost 11 rolls of film

Pros: A sound concept

Cons: Incompetent personnel foil good concept

Review: 11 rolls of film sent via UPS to ensure safety and delivery. Account label on box, cover letter, order form and each roll of film. Because film didn't come in mailer, Snapfish personnel didn't know what to with it. Box of film sat for nine days after receipt. E-mails to customer service received inane responses. Four phone calls and a fax to GM Ben Nelson threatened a law suit before they found the box. Film received by snapfish on 5/17. As of today, 5/26 at 4"30 pm, still no pictures.

Horrible Service

Pros: An online photo service

Cons: Storage, Developing

Review: Please do not use this site.
1) If they tell you that the film you sent in to develop was blank then that means they lost your pictures. (I know this since I a close friend of mine knows the CEO of Snapfish)

2) Your pictures are deleted forever if there is no use of the account for one year unfortunately they do not always send out an email to notify you of this fact.

Truly a horrible service for those of us that would like to keep our pictures.

Pros: cheap (you get what you pay for)

Cons: I'd have to say that Snapfish has the worst customer service of any company, online or regular, that I have ever dealt with. Certainly top 3, and I'm in my late 30s, so I've dealt with a lot of stuff in life. Few features, and clearly they sucker you by

Best for film; OK for Digital

Pros: I have read all the reviews on this service and have ordered both film and digital prints. I Loved my film print the price is only a third of photoworks film developing prices and found the quality to be much better. i will continue to use snapfish. thos

Cons: Reviews with compliants are short and lack detail so i take their word only with a grain of salt. but the lack of a 1-800 costumer service number is a big negative (and the only one).

great support - average quality

Pros:

Cons:

Review: here's my experience with snapfish: i sent out 4 rolls on a monday with pics from my la spring break. exactly 7 days later, my rolls were processed, photos posted online and prints made. those i finally received on wednesday ... fairly fast. now, to the features. the online photo album only displays disappointing low-res pictures. that, unfortunately, seems to be the standard among all those online photo services, except club photo (which is significantly more expensive!). upon receiving the prints, i noticed how many of the picture s had little artefacts on them or were blown out. i'm not a pro photographer, but still i want my photos to look crisp, clear and colorful. about 1/3 of all my pics r in acceptably quality! after emailing customer service i was offered reprints at no charge provided that i send back the images i'm not happy with. i will do that on tomorrow and also request the reprints to be made on kodak royal paper (5c extra per photo). i'll post more once i get the new pictures. for now, everyone with high standards in print quality ... go for ofoto.

They've been good for me.

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I have used Snapfish for a year now. I have sent in rolls of film as well as uploaded pics for Xmas photo cards and orders from my digital camera. I have had nothing but positive experiences. I even had an order that arrived wet and pics were stuck together. They re-printed all of it free of charge. Prices are good too.

This fish stinks!

Pros:

Cons:

Review: Ugh! Never again. The quality sucks and the web features are so inferior to other sites like Shutterfly and Ofoto. Even the demo pictures are stinky. I almost threw my camera out but I realized it was their sub-par developing. Folks, don't take the low road--better yet, don't risk your precious, costly film to sink or swim with snapfish.

Only Good Experiences with Snapfish

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I am surprised by the number of people that have reported lost or missing orders. After trying the other sites, I have become a devoted Snapfish user. In 2002 alone I had them develop more than 30 rolls of film -- I have over 700 photos nicely organized on my Snapfish site. Not ONE order wat botched. Every order was perfectly executed. I have found thier quality and turnaround time to be excellent. I think that getting prints back with your developing is a great feature that the other sites just don't offer. The low res previews are not enough for me to select which Items I want prints for. I want AT LEAST ONE copy of every shot I take. That's why I took them for crying out loud! The prints have been razor sharp, and colors have been right on. Far superior to the print I get back from the local camera store (which are invariably spotted with dust specks.) I have easily shared pics with others (I wish they didn't have to register, though) I've ordered 5x7 and 8x10 enlargements of my prints, and more than a hundred wallet sized prints to use as birth announcements. I have also downloaded hi-res copies and ordered CD's of my prints. Thier upload options are easy to use (drag and drop!), and I can even transfer pics effortlessly to the Ceiva Frames I have purchased for my Grandparents. On the one or two occasions I have used tech support I received responses within 1 day. Overall I an super satisfied with Snapfish. (for more read my review on Epinions)

Excellent Processing, Very reliable

Pros:

Cons:

Review: I sent my first two rolls of film to this company last month (November, 2002), one of 35mm and one of APS. Within one week, I had my photos back and pictures uploaded online. The prices are terrific, and the Matte quality was supurb. I use to get my pictures developed at Wolf Camera, but $15/roll (with kodak picture cd) was just to much. I only pay $4/roll (which includes all shipping costs, paid by Snapfish), and get my pictures uploaded for free. I Highly recommended Snapfish.

A Great Deal for the AVERAGE User

Pros:

Cons:

Review: What's not to like? I'm fairly new at digital photography, but have been shooting film for years. Unfortunatlely with the expense of "drug store" processing, I found myself with over 20 rolls of unprocessed film. After checking the online options, Snapfish worked for me! Not only did I get online alblums, but I get my negs AND PRINTS (on Kodak paper) back. Other services only give you the negs. Quality is on par with "drug store", especially considering some film was 5-6 years old. Pricing beat the competition for standard processing and your first 3 rolls were FREE! I've shared my alblums with friends and now they have signed up. And I've never been spammed. Again -- What's not to like!
