Pros Pleasure to drive. Handling, comfort, low noise, great sound system, Gas mileage, and found Onstar very useful.
Cons Glove box is small, wish I had opted for a couple more options
Summary After 2 years and 33,000 miles I still get excited to get behind the wheel. I have the base model (V6 with no packages).
My wife and I enjoyed this car so much that we bought an SRX for her. She has always wanted a Lexus RX but it's not even close when it comes to handling. My wife has a friend with an 05 RX and gets to drive it so she really knows what she's talking about when she says the SRX is much better.
The proximity keyless entry will spoil you. You can't go back to a plain old key fob.
I do wish I had added a couple of features such as memory & heated seats along with HomeLink. We have those features in the SRX and we enjoy them.
I can't believe what good gas mileage the STS gets. I average between 22 and 23 MPG for combined driving. Maximum MPG I got a trip from Atlanta,GA to Jacksonville, FL was 30.5. I must admit that I was trying to see how high I could get the MPG on this trip. Normally I get between 27 and 29 on trips depending on how and where I drive.
I have seen a lot of reviews knocking the interior as being cheap. That is a subjective review. I have a different opinion. You really need to compare for yourself. What I thought looked cheap was the Acura TL and FX interiors. The plastic buttons and controls reminded me of a walk through the electronics department of a department store. (I thought the Mecerdes had the best interiors but I like the style of the Cadillac better)
Subjective. I hope Cadillac does not drastically change the interior to please magazine reviewers!
We have owned 3 new Toyotas (Camry and Avalon) over the years and doubt we will go back. All were very highly rated. Don't take me wrong these cars were reliable, (oldest model was the best) and good cars, but after the initial purchase the excitement quickly faded away.
The base BOSE sound system in the STS is great! Rich, clear, and accurate in it's reproduction. I listen to many forms of music. Classical music sounds excellent and what really helps is how quiet the car rides.
The V6 has plenty of power and is delivered to the pavement is what seems like a very efficient way. All I know is that it's fun to drive.
My wife had an accident in a remote area of Mississippi and the benefits of OnStar really became apparent. At 5:00AM with no traffic in sight, 2 split wheels, and all alone the folks at OnStar stayed on the phone with her until the police arrived. OnStar handled all the arragements to get the car towed and my wife to a safe place. Funny thing is I can't recall all the details of the event but I do recall how impressed I was with the service. My wife was badly shaken and OnStar did a great job! My wife says that this feature is very important to her. ( That was over 9 months ago and the car still drives like new)
My recommendation to those looking a buying a new car is to test all that appeal to you yourself, for as long as possible. Subjective reviews should be reserved for you, the owner.
Pros Handling Sophist icated Power and High Tech
Cons High Tech options come at a price.
Summary The STS is the best sports sedan I have owned. I have had several Mercedes. driven BMW's and Lexus and they don't come close to this car for the price. The styling is great. Performance is excellent! BMW's & Mercedees look boring and old -fashioned. The STS can be configured from a stout V6 all the way to the STS-V with 469HP. Plus it is American! If you want to spend $40,000 more for roughly the same features buy foreign.
Pros This is a true luxury car that performs like a sports car, especially with the V8 engine
Cons Until you study both cars, it can be difficult to distinguish the STS from the CTS
Summary This was my first Cadi and I think it is a great car! The craftsmanship of the leather interior could have been better (the leather on the headrests looks loose in spots) but overall, I am well pleased.
Pros quick, handles like a sportscar, smooth acceleration
Cons slightly tight interior
Summary I never thought I would be driving a Cadillac...but this is not your Grampa's Cadillac! This is more like the 63 Beemer I used to drive!
Couldn't be happier...and the navigation system is great.
Pros plenty of power great handling
Cons rides a little too high some cheap plastic interior pieces
Summary They reviewed the car and said it got bad fuel mileage. What did you think it makes alot of power not like those lexuses that are painfully slow. And if you have enough money to buy a luxury car you dont care about fuel efficency.
