4.0 stars Pros: So much room (interior, passenger & trunk) packaged in such a stylish, functional, well equipped auto that delivers as advertised.
Cons: Cloth seating cheapens the appearance of the car. Definitely opt for leather seats ($795 invoice)--very attractive & confortable. Use of plastic?? parts in back bumper area is a bit of a worry.

Summary: I should mention we have driven the car only 800+ miles so opinions are all 'first hand'. Reading the owner's manual will take a while, but is necessary to learn about the many features and how they operate. Gas mileage is yet to be determined accurtely. It seems a bit lower than advertised (21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway). This may be attributable to a couple of 'lead foots' with a new toy! So far we really love this car--especially my wife. She's short and has always had difficultly finding a comfortable driving position in most cars. Most stretch her too much in reaching the steering wheel, pedals and controls. Not so with the Ford Five-Hundred. 8 way seating controls, higher seating positons & easy viewing of most all 360 degrees make make her feel much more in command of the vehicle. There's plenty of room for us bigger guys too!
Overall we are extremely pleased so far. I just hope it will hold up as well as my old 1983 Mercedes 300D. It may keep going another 2 or 3 hundred thousand miles. Well that may be a stretch Ford, but I can buy few Five-Hundreds for the price of a new Benz.

By the way, that employee pricing deal isn't the no haggle rock bottom price it's advertised to imply. You should be able to get a few hundred dollars off that rock bottom price with a little research and a short easy haggle.
Miles per gallon figures given above are from the sticker, not my observations.
