"In one word..... WOW"5.0 starson by SixString78
Pros: Acceleration, Handling, Braking, Price
Cons: None that I could find
Summary: If you are looking for a high performance car (and one that just happens to sell at a half the price or less of its competitors)then look no further! The first time you drive the Impreza WRX STI the only word that will come to your mind in the end is WOW!
Acceleration: The best way to describe the acceleration of the STI to someone who has never driven one is to think of one of those crotch rocket bikes. It is that fast....
Handling: This car doesn't want to let go of the road! I've taken 90 degree turns in the road doing 85km/h(53mph) and the car didn't feel like it was going to slide off the road and was very stable.
Braking: With those huge Brembo's this car stops on a dime. Stoping from 100km/h(60mph) can be done in about 100ft. And don't be affraid to test their limits, they'll take a beating. That's what their meant for!
Price: To find a high performance car that can match it(other then the Mitsubishi EVO) prosche is going to have to take a big hit in sales.
I've seen alot of reviews(including the one from CNET) that focus solely on the little things. Here are some of the cons that I've seen most people list in their reviews:
Factory Stereo: Could the stereo be better? Yes. Myself I would replace the factory stereo in ANY car that I buy however. So for myself I don't consider this to be a con.
Rear Leg Room: Are you really buying a high performance sports car so your passengers in the back can be comfortable? My buddy who's 260 and 6ft can sit in the back with about 2 inches between his knees and the front seat. That doesn't seem all that bad to me for a sports car.
Hard Ride: Ummm... it's not a luxury car meant for comfort. This car is meant for performance and has the necessary suspension to do so. I would never expect a soft ride out of any vehicle like this. Expect the ride that it's meant to give.
Fuel Economy: Three things to take into account about the fuel economy: 1.300hp
2.Turbo 3. You're going to want to put the pedal to the floor in this car. It comes at a price which is using more fuel(and premium only at that).
Law Enforcement: I can't consider this a con of the car itself but more a perception of the cops. You will be noticed by the police ALOT more in this car. Just keep it in respectable limits in the city and on the highways and you won't have any trouble. On those winding country roads and anywhere where the cops can't see you, that's a different story..... have fun!
In the end, take this car as what it is meant to be. If you want all the frills like MP3 playback, bluetooth connectivity, in dash GPS navigation, voice activated controls, loads of rear leg room, pillow like ride you're looking in the wrong spot. Buy yourself an Infinity M series. If you want a car that is an absolute blast to drive, great in winter conditions(you MUST have snow, not all seasons, but snow tires during the winter) will put your eyes in the back of your head, put your nextdoor neighbours Corvette to shame and get you noticed by some of those nice street racing girls.... then spend the $56000 on this car and put it in your driveway!
