"Awesome car, bar none!!! Hot-Rod Performance & AWD"
Pros: Quattro, V8, 4-doors, speed-sensitive steering, great Recaro seats, and the list goes on...
Cons: Audi dealers suck @ service, prone to squeaks & rattles, mediocre fuel economy, cramped back seats and not much else.
Summary: This new "B7" S4 looks worse than the old "B6" S4 in my opinion. Mechanically, they are the same car, but the look of the front and back is completely changed. I think Audi should've waited until a "complete" redesign of the A4-line to incorporate its full-frame front grille.
I have a 2004 S4 and I am pretty happy about it. I honestly like its look better than this current S4. I have no regrets of buying this car over the BMW M3.
The interior ergonomics, fit/finish, and high quality feel are second to none in this car. I like the S4 for its understated elegance. The car doesn't look like a screamer from the outside, so most people do not know that there is a 4.2L V8 under the hood.
If you like V8 power, no turbo-lag, and the stability (w/ slight understeer) of Quattro, this is the car for you. You can take it to Tahoe (w/some snow tires or all-seasons) or lap it around your local track and it'll feel right at home in both environments.
I do wish Audi had the dealer service to match many of the other premium brands (namely Lexus and Infiniti). I've been to most of the Bay Area Audi dealers and their service and willingness to help me was mediocre at best.
Also of note: Never use the jack that comes with the car to change your tire. You'll see what I mean when you do see that jack. It truly is a POS and several people have damaged the rocker panels on their cars b/c of this jack.
Other than that, Audi has built a solid car that has given me nothing but pure driving excitement every time I turn the key.

Agree - got my 2nd Audi and as the first one the Dealerships only reflects Audi's attitude - IT SUCKS.
Rattles & Squeecs - I gave my (not S4) Audi 3.0 Qauttro, Tipronic (2004 - from the floor) to my wife - don't want to drive the damn thing - the rattles makes me mad - worse than the previous one.
New upgrade versus the 2004/2005 - it does not match.
Something funny goiing on at Audi - Hundai. Look closely and either one of them went to bed with the other one and "bang" we have a very close look alike with some appealing body work changes - Hundai with a 3.3 with a close o'so close power / torque ratio.
Or is it because the A6 get manifactured in China and has an Oriental make over for that large to be market.
This is my last Audi - RATTLES, RATTLES and the BAD AUDI CUSTOMER ATTITUDE !!
