"A dissapointment in comparison to its predecessor"
Pros: very solid, good marque, excellent handling
Cons: lacks the "cachet" of the previous 530i
Summary: A car is more than performance numbers. It's "personality" is essential. I tested the '06 530i as my 2001 530i is now off warranty. The new model lacks the sense of "luxury" in the interior...too much of a japanese car feeling..and the improved handling is small enough to be no more than an academic point. The previous car feels luxurious and "special"...this one doesn't. For the money they want they should redesign it again with less "boy racer" exterior, and more germanic "cachet"...sorry BMW!!
