"For all you performance hungry family people, this is the car for you!"
Pros: Great acceleration and handling
Cons: Audio system could use some upgrading.
Summary: When my 99 SHO started SHOwing signs of aging - over 150000 miles (too many trips to the gas station), I started looking to replace it. I didn't want to give up any performance or any of the creature comforts. I wanted better gas mileage. That's when I settled on the 2006 Accord Hybrid. Yeah, I lost some trunk space. I also lost that Ford MACH audio system (bummer). But what I got was something better. I got a faster car that got WAY better gas mileage.
Some criticize Honda for making this car. They say things like it gets worse gas mileage than some non hybrid models. They are missing the point. This hybrid was built for people like me. I'm always on the road. I have a family. I have (dare I say it) a need for speed. This car is every bit as fast as Honda says it is. It handles well, and my wife and kids are very comfortable when they ride with me.
What more can a guy ask for?
Oh, and as far as the price goes, I only paid $31,500 for my 2006 - brand new with navigation! On top of that, the governemt gave me a $1300 credit on my 2006 return.
If you want a fast, 253HP V6 powered family sedan that gets to 60MPH in less than 7 seconds and still gets 25MPG in the City and around 34MPG on the highway, this is the car to get. By the way, for the 21000 miles I put on this car, my average MPG is 28.2. Not the 24 and less numbers that have been posted out there. Granted, I do more highway driving than city, but I am in a fair amount of rush hour traffic jams (Dan Ryan reconstruction - need I say more)
