"Serious luxury sports sedan, still no manual tranny"
Pros: fast; beautiful new exterior; clean interior layout
Cons: no manual transmission; no maple interior offered on sports model
Summary: I'm not sure what the other reviewer was talking about when he sad the car had no power. I've raced drag and SCCA, and this car is plenty fast. Like other enthusiasts have mentioned, this car would be more satisfying with a manual transmission. Call me old school, but it's the same reason why I wear a mechanical watch, and use film in a manual camera: feel. But Lexus did with this car what they do best: luxury first. The interior is the most satisfying to me compared to the BMW 330, G35, and A4. I also prefer red exteriors, and the Matador Red is one of my favorites. Some have complained of the lack of an off switch for VDIM, but even in hard driving, I did not notice it being intrusive at all (at least not doing a 180 in front of the police station near the dealer
). True, the automatic transmission still leaves something to be desired. The DSG in the Audi is still the smoothest, and the throttle blip on downshift in the Infiniti is just plain cool. Still, I have chosen the Lexus over the others in its class due to the luxury aspect of the car.
My only gripes are the lack of manual transmission, and the fact that you can't get the maple wood with the sports package. Otherwise, both my wife and myself have chosen this car over the others (including an Imola Red M3). That's how much we like the car. In fact, at the recent Orange County Car show, it was the only car that my cousin and I sat in where we just looked at each other and said, "Oh, yeah; THIS is the car." If it happens in the future that Lexus offers it in manual tranny, I'll probably get that too. Notice I didn't say trade in? hehe Oh well, I'll just have to work more night shifts...

I drive a BMW 330CI and it is alot faster than my car. The other reviewer is high on something or comparing it to a pure sports car and not a sport luxury. Interior is very nice (cluster exspecially). I took it to 120 very easy and was smooth. Doesnt vorner like my BMW of course, but it is a lot lot smoother ride. Lexua has the best customer service after you buy the car. my area they pickup and switch out cars for you when you need shop job from the dealer and after they finish with our car they drive to where you are and and exchange it; i love that service. I dont have to waste anytime or even drive.
I am set on getting one. I am set on the luxury, nav, and Mark Lev audio system and will tap the preamp bass for my 1200 watt amp and 12in subs
giving in at 8 since I really dont like the rear end and rather have an inline 6 motor like the olf one instead of a V6.
