I LOVE this car!!! Highly recommend it. I'm Honda Happyby tkmoonstar - September 15, 2008
Pros: I love how she handles, holds the road and responds to the slightest touch of the wheel. The shape is seductive and makes washing an intimate task. I love the black interior, seats to the control panels, the moon roof, stereo is great, trunk space
Cons: 3rd gear is a trouble spot. As others noted, TEMPERMENTAL. Not always, but more often than I like, 3rd gear wants to pop out when you shift in, or grind into place. I am a good shifter and know this is not my own error.
Review: I wanted an Accord when I went to the dealer, and my husband convinced me to drive this SI. I am glad we did, because I am thrilled with this baby. I love the sportiness and yet, it has all the Honda typicals that make me happy. No one else in my town has one, yet... and I get asked quite often what it is. An eyecatcher! I love to drive it, very comfortable - I can relax my body and do very little physical work once we get to cruising altitude. The sound system is fantastic. The steering wheel controls of stereo and cruise are easy to use. The feel of the shifter is nice. I like all the storage trays and the cup holders are efficient. The sedan is just my cup of tea, offering more backseat room and trunk space than the coupe. The shifting in/out of 3rd gear is the only downside I can think of with this vehicle which I have now owned for about three months. I really have a love crush on this car and find myself staring at it in the driveway sometimes. It is beautiful and shapely and I find myself making excuses to go for a drive!

fun but needs a lot more powerby hondasatisfied - June 22, 2008
Pros: handling, looks , kinda quick , sounds good when i wind it out , gas mileage
Cons: brake fade , 3rd gear is very tempermental , sluggish out of the whole
Review: i really do love my new honda but it's slow off the line and 3rd gear is very very tempermental at times .... it'll have troubles going in gear or staying in gear but only in 3rd gear ... all of the others are just fine .... the brake fade is also an issue when i'm going thru the hills here in the russian river area ... but the suspension kinda makes up for that .... the car really is slow off the start line ... many people have put me to shame ... but when i'm in the hills i've put a few bmw's to rest .... what can i do for more low end power without sacrificing top end power ??? or sacrificing my 1000,000 mile warranty ???

Awsome car! Honda does it right every year.by korcrow33 - June 1, 2008
Pros: Looks very small, some may call it a chick car, but performs and handles way better than the competition.
Cons: I still miss my Integra GS-R
Review: Slick design where the front cannot be seen when driving. Comfortable seat and gear box is fitted perfectly for shifting gears. This is the most exciting 4 cyl. car I've ever driven. Some people may call it a chick car, but it sure doesn't drive like one. The way the car scratches on the pavement, when not careful due to sensative clutch pedal. I do not know how it produces 197 hp from such a small engine. Who cares about the navigation system or bluetooth capability! Buy your own GPS for 150 bucks! Need better stereo for sound? Invest about $1000! Those things are not part of this Si's performance. I think Honda is trying to keep the reputation by beating other competitors and to make their statement. You know what? It worked. Everything works fine and most of all, reving up the high rpm without damaging the engine, this is the car to get. Just like the Integra GS-R that I used to own, but better handling and faster. Want to go faster? Get a turbocharger for #3,000! With the right dyno tuning and brand named turbos, I bet this Si will smoke most of the V-8's. Want more classy looks or luxury? Buy a Lexus! Go ahead spend $20,000 more on cars that are worthless. These are my final words. There is no other cars that are better for this price! I test drove the 2008 Lancer GTS. I tell you what! It drove just like a Hyundai Elantra GT. What a joke that was. I even drove the Scion TC's. What a piece of garbage that car was; it just looked sporty and nothing to back it up, but the price is about $4,000 less, but who cares! It's only $50 more a month for 6 years, right? Is it worth $50 more a month? The answer is yes!

Fantastic. Unbeatable for the pirce.by Iron__X - January 20, 2008
Pros: Sporty, fun, and practical
Cons: Third gear problem
Review: I adore this car. I've owned it for about 8 months and have loved every minute I've spent in it. If your willing to shell out the cash for it, the Harmon/Kardon Drive + Play 2 is the perfect solution for the lack of ipod integration. The stock engine and muffler sounds fantastic without being obnoxious. The only problem is that there is a slight defect in about 1/3 of the produced si's where it almost "double shifts" into third gear so that it causes occasional grinding and missed gear. Honda is searching for the problem and they basically gave me a coupon for free anything with the transmission becasue of the issue. gotta love Honda. for a front wheel drive car this things rips and throw a turbo on it and your stomach will be left behind. Highly recommended.

The bargain sports carby sdownes_2000 - October 13, 2007
Pros: Fast, Fun & Practical
Cons: Poor paintwork for a Honda...others see below
Review: I considered all the usual suspects from the Toyota...sorry, ahem...Scion Tc, MazdaSpeed 3, Golf GTI and Subaru WRX before choosing the Si. Ultimately, it came down to "Which is the best value?" The Primary consideration was it had to be fast and fun to drive, but practicality, cost & resale value were major factors.
This car will not let you down...from its wonderfully tuned exhaust note to the way it hauls after the VTEC kicks in. It's seriously addictive. There needs to be a VTEC Anonymous group for us addicts, but I think we will just share in our addiction and be worse than ever.
There are flaws...the subwoofer really doesn't seem to work with the majority of my music, if not all. The paintwork chips when you breathe on it. There are squeaks with only 5,000 on the clock. The AC system works well, but I want to control it, not let the system control itself. There is a suspension "pop" that is well documented on the web that most dealers are not honoring under warranty at this stage.
Do not let these little concerns deter you in your purchase, this is an awesome car that lives up to the SI moniker and should be selling at $27,000 nevermind $21,000.
Get SI-k'd!

Awesome Car, Been A Long Time Comingby pumped1 - September 10, 2007
Pros: Very quick, lots of room
Cons: Not A Lot of Torque, 6th Gear blah
Review: The car is an SI through and through. When the v-tech kicks it stays in from 1st to 5th gear with proper shifts. The shift light is also handy, though not needed once you get a feel for the car. The seats grips you with out squashing your sides. Plenty of leg room up front and in the back. The trunk is HUGE!!! though the trunk deck wouldnt let you know that. Very sporty shifter and nice close ratios and firm shift feels. Stereo is nice, though I would have liked to seen the 6 disk in dash changer like what was in my 05 civic. The car handles very well, and with 4 wheel disk brakes, stops very well also. The car is extremely fun to drive and is also a nice car to just set the cruise and relax in. I am averaging right at 29-30 miles per gallon with just over a thousand miles on the car. I did not get the navigation system due to the fact i already have an external gps and couldnt see spending the extra 1500 bucks or so. But the car is Honda at it finest. A very nice, classy, and sporty sedan well worth the SI badge.

Love at first sightby conwaymike - August 29, 2007
Pros: powerful and a joy to drive
Cons: yet to find one
Review: I love this car. Honda did make a wise decision make the si available for the first time on a sedan. Back seat is large enough for passengers as I am 6'2, smaller people have to sit on the other side but in most cars many have to anyway. I fell in love with the power, control, and the features. This car has everything I ask for in a car and love the 6 speed manual... The feel of a sports car, one that most can afford. Can not say enough good things about this car.

I LOVE THIS CAR!!! Honda hit a home run with the Civic Sedan Si !by mikepost - April 7, 2007
Pros: great power, handling & brakes, great navi/sound system, love the styling
Cons: needs premium gas, just a bit noisy inside
Review: I've had this car for about a month and I LOVE IT!
Positives:
Driving the Civic sedan Si is a blast! Acceleration is very strong and has a broad power range in each gear. The limited slip differential works well, and really helps when turning out into traffic and getting up to speed. Brakes stop well. Suspension/tires are very athletic and capable when pressed, yet comfortable in casual driving. The shifter and clutch work well together (exept 3rd gear is sometimes difficult to engage).
Controls are very well laid out, and everything is within easy reach. The two-tiered dash layout might be unconventional but functions well (I like it--some may not). Buttons and switches have a good feel. This is my first experience in a Honda, and I'm impressed. Everything in this car is put together in a way that just makes sense--why don't other car makers build cars this way???
The navigation/audio system is VERY thorough, accurate and helpful. Techno-phobes might be afraid of it because of it's complexity, but it's not really complicated. It's controls are pretty strait forward, and with practice it gets easier to use. The visual and turn-by-turn prompts are spot-on accurate. There's even a button on the steering wheel so the driver can give a multitude of voice commands to operate the nav/audio system. This helps keep your eyes on the road, but the semantics and language take some practice. Overall, the nav system can take a while to play with and learn. It cost alot, but I'm glad I got it. The stereo has great sound, thanks to the powerful amp, subwoofer and component speakers. The tweeters are located on top of the dash, next to the A-pillars and give good sound imaging.
Honda has made it really easy to decide which Civic to buy. The list of options are basically paired up with the different trim levels. I had also considered a VW Jetta and was very confused by all the engine/trim/option combinations (how does anyone decide which Jetta they like the best?!?)
Negatives:
Exhaust/road noise is a bit loud, but this IS a performance edition car. Maybe Honda could have used more sound insulation for the cabin, but I'm kind of splitting hairs on this... For the most part it's only a minor nuisance, only noticeable when the stereo is off and you're having conversation.
Premium gas is required for the high compression engine. I'd prefer not to spend the extra money at each fill up, but it only adds about $2.50. I think it's worth it for all the added performance this engine gives compared to the standard Civic engine. It's something to consider when weighing whether to get this car or not.
This is the first time Honda has made an Si edition for the Civic sedan. I think this car has the perfect combination of performance, styling and practicality. It's loaded with power, technology and features of cars costing much more.
