"I just picked up my 450h and it's amazing"4.5 starson by metataggers
Pros: 0-60mph in 5.2 for a luxurious hybrid is amazing
Cons: Brakes are a bit plush and not communicative.
Summary: I had a 7 series on a 3 yr. lease, and I had 2 months left. I was going to buy an M5, to which there are very few comparable 4 door cars. I have been keeping an eye on the 450h specs because although it's not an M5, I admired it for its engineering feat: luxury 4 door hybrid sedan that can do 0-60mph in almost 5.3 sec. Well, the car is amazing. It doesn't communicate the road like a BMW, but it's a bit of comparing apples to oranges. Lexus has always been focused on a luxury ride, not a road race ride. That being said, when I flipped the sport mode suspension switch, the turn-in was pretty good, and the handling was amazingly flat. Again, not an M5, but the M5 isn't as plush for those long drives to Vegas (and it's $30K to $40K more). It was certainly good enough to post cornering G's that were much better than the specs reported in Road and Track. Flat enough for me to smoke many many cars . Anyway, so I was amazed enough to buy it. And, I like the idea that I'm driving the quickest production hybrid built. And, that its straight line speed and acceleration closely matches the venerable 4.8 liter 550i BMW. So, I stuck my G-Tech timer on the window, and did 5 runs. I timed 2 runs 0 to 60mph at 5 sec. flat. That's the speed of my 2002 Porsche C4s. Amazing. Great car, a load of fun, and I guess that I just helped to cancel the mess left from another self-indulgent Hummer owner.
