Pros Sport, Luxury, Comfortable
Cons Gas Mileage Is Poor
Summary I recently purchased a 2007 Maxima SE. I currently have 1200 miles on it and I'm in love with it. The bluetooth is incredible despite what other reviewers have said. Everyone I speak to through the bluetooth say I sound completely normal. This car gets up and goes but the mileage suffers. Since purchase, I'm getting 20.4 MPG and that's with 80% highway miles. Otherwise I love this bad boy.
Pros Power, Features, Sportiness, looks
Cons Keyless start should be just a button.
Summary I bought my 2007 Maxima SE in October 2006. I wanted to drive it a while before I would come to a solid opinion. I have owned numerous new vehicles including premium brands like BMW and Mercedes. I have only had 2 that I did not have to take back in the 1st month of ownership for even minor problems except my 1995 Nissan Maxima and my 2007 Nissan Maxima. This car is a joy to drive. I have the SE which has a firmer suspension than the SL which I enjoy. For a car this size, the gas milage has been great considering the performance. The 255 SAE horse power really moves this car. It is feature rich and solid. As of today, I have almost 5K on the odometer and the only thing that the service department needs to do is change the oil. When you look at the asking price vs. what you can actually get this car for, I can't think of a better value. I have had 2, I would buy a third.
Pros This car is deceptively fast and the CVT works well. Ride quality and handling in top rate. I cross-shopped the Accord, Acura TL, CamryV6 and Avalon. The Maxima is as sporty as an Acura TL, as big as an Avalon, yet costs the same as the Accord V6.
Cons Front-wheel drive + 244HP = torque steer. The rearward visibility is not the best, nor is the turning radius. The CVT takes a little bit to get used to. Around 21MPG on premium, if you drive like me.
Summary This car can keep up with most BMWs, handles as good as any Acura sedan, yet costs about the same as a (yawn) Accord. It is just about as big inside as an Avalon, has a huge trunk, and is easy on the eyes. If you're gonna settle for an Accord because the Acura is too pricey (or ugly for the new models), then give the Maxima a test drive.
"Great sports sedan"on by bnaviles
Pros Engine, luxury features, handling
Cons Turning radius
Summary I bought a used 2007 Maxima S with 32,000 miles on it. A great car. The Nissan 3.5L engine is one of the sweetest ever made. The CVT takes a bit of getting used to, but it's nice to keep the power in the power band when accelerating hard. Nicely appointed interior (mine is fully loaded), comfortable seats, great Bose stereo. For the price, this is the best near-luxury sports sedan out there.
Pros Terrific agility for the size and weight, comfort of car. Solid and relaible.
Cons Miles per gallon could be bette, but on balance, so could the price of petrol.
