"Enjoyed my lease, but time to move on..."3.5 starson by jmar0351
Pros: Tech and performance are good for the price. Can stand up to some spirited driving!
Styling is good, rims look great in the dark silver/gunmetal!
Cons: Somewhat loud cabin noise from tires. *Man trans* needed to be replaced within 5000 miles (known problem)
Summary: After breaking the engine in I began to really try to push the car around some of the beautiful Hawaiian back roads, I realized I hated front wheel drive!
The tech in the car is nice. The navigation is easy to use. The sound is great. And the sat radio works well (once i brought the car back to NY.....no sat in Hawaii)
I'm close to turning the car in after a 3 year lease and the engine seems to be more peppy now than ever. The front wheel drive holds the car back in spirited driving, but straight line acceleration is great for a 4 door sedan.
When i informed my service rep there was a problem with my transmission he didn't take me seriously. After reading up online i found out this was a known problem, and although its not present in a large % of vehicles, it shows up. I was 25 at the time, and I have driven manual since i was 17... but my age might have contributed to the poor handling of my problem. Basically, I didn't just hop into the car and learn as I drove it off the lot, so I was heated about the whole thing.
The problem consisted of the trans popping out of 3rd gear after it was fully engaged! Everything was taken care of with no cost to me after another visit and me coming close to screaming at the associate.
Other than that Acura has treated me pretty well. The visits are usually quick, service associate are good as well.
I really did enjoy this car. Was my first new car lease. This being said, I;m moving onto a rwd or awd BMW.
