Pros Looks, performance, Nav system (the cars do now have Bluethooth integration). Best of all it's American made
Cons No cons at all
Pros Handles and performs between a BMW 328ix and 335ix. Interior size is closer to the BMW 5 series. More luxurious than a Lexus GS 350.
Cons No valet trunk lock. The removal of the heated windshield washer fluid (supply vendor issue).
Summary The 2009 CTS has eliminated the early production "bugs". It now has Blutooth, HID "flash to pass", and several other amenities. The AWD DI is the best handling on ice and snow I've every driven. That includes a 4WD Suburban and my current 4WD Yukon XL. It's German and Swedish engineering really shows through. During a recent ice and snow storm (4"-5" without any plowing), I traveled over 210 miles with no handling problems. This vehicle is a great combination of engineering, luxury and performance.
Pros Excellent engines and performance, very nice interior. Great technology
Cons A bit heavy
Summary First off, Brian Rooney gives the best video reviews of cars I've seen--practical, informative and fun. Cadillac hits a home-run with this car, which will probably appeal most to the 40+ crowd. This massive upgrade has done wonders to polish Cadillac's renaissance and should get the notice of many prospective buyers. The performance and high-quality execution are impressive. Most car magazines give the CTS strong recommendations.
Pros I have been looking at the CTS for 3 years and finally decided the 2008 was the one to buy. I test drove BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, Volvo and kept coming back to the CTS. Great to drive, really fast and handles well. Love all the comforts.
Cons Navigation/Audio glich and of course I wish the gas milage was better.
Summary I have owned my vehicle for one year now and I love this car. It is truly a pleasure to drive. I have just about every extra you could get. I love the parking assist, heated and cooled seats. The handsfree phone is great, GMC gives you some free minutes when you buy the car and an option to keep purchasing but I just added the phone to my Verizon family plan after I ran out of minutes. I have been back to the dealer once with some minor complaints. The motor for the passenger seat went out the second month but they replaced without a problem.
My only real complaint is the Navigation/Sound system has a glich somewhere and every couple of weeks will not boot when you start the car. You have to turn the car off and restart it. I have taken it back to dealer but they can't figure it out. Overall love the car and will keep it for a long time.
Pros Fit/finish; large moonroof - even when closed; interior night lighting; acceleration and stopping; Cornering; "Sport" mode shifting takes getting used to; Sound system; USB port; back seat power; Engine compartment; large screen Nav/audio system.
Cons No external rear view mirror turn signal indicators; no rear-view back-up video cam; top portion of instrument cluster hidden by top of steering wheel; Nav/audio system user interface; moonroof control design; no alternative fuel option.
Summary Overall, the 2008 CTS is just a fun car. Solidly built and with a good mix of features, it looks good, drives better, is comfy, sporty and affordable. For a sedan this size, that's a neat trick to get to this winning combination.
