"Don't buy it!"
Pros: Lots of space
Cons: Poor fit and finish
Summary: I have a 2008 Taurus Limited which is pretty well loaded out. The fit and finish of this vehicle is really poor!
The car suffers from excessive rode noise or sizzle which is telegraphed up through the suspesion and into the body structure. The handling is vague with excessive understeer in corners. The ergonomics will become very anoying to taller drivers as there's no telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel and some of the controls are very poorly placed.... the turn signal lever is too far away from the steering wheel, you cannot see the ignition switch as it's well hidden behind the wheel and certain other controls requires the driver to remove thier eyes from the road in order to locate them.
The paint quality is really really poor. There are large areas where the primer shows through around the door sills and the hinge areas (Ford says this is common and "normal" ). The interior fit and finish is subpar.... poor quality materials and poor design of components which are prone to warping, ie the sunglass holder and the center armrest lid, cheap looking interior door trim.
The traction / stability control program is intrusive on rough road surfaces (most of Michigan's roads) causing a loss of power when your trying to enter certain stretches of road with fast moving traffic.
All together a very dissappointing vehicle which I regret leasing.... should have chosen the Honda Accord, better content and build quality for the same price.
