"The 2008 EX coupe is disappointing" on by diasppointed
Pros: The coupe has very nice styling. The car is peppy enough
Cons: Jittery, noisy ride. Very rough on city streets. You will bounce around. Many cheap cutbacks compared to the 2004 model. "What where they thinking?" It rides like an old small truck.
Summary: I have previously owned 2000 and 2004 Civic EX coupes and have loved them. My 2008 is a total letdown. It has the loudest, roughest ride of any car I have owned, including older Corvettes. The road noise is terrible. The entire car has been cheaply made. It seems loaded with plastic. Corners have been cut everywhere. It looks great from the outside, but that's the only positive about this car. The seats are too hard. The trunk requires forced slamming while the gas pedal has no tactile feedback. The sun visors are very stiff to use. The seat belt and directional noise chimes are much louder than my 2004. Actually irritating. The high beam indicator on the directional stick goes on easily with either a push or pull while turning. It is often accidentally left on. This will get the police cars attention. The blue dash lights are childish looking and cheap. The steering is very touchy. Hang on. There is no cargo net standard in the trunk, which is also lined with some cheap cardboard junk.
I really regret buying this car and hate driving it anywhere. -
"Value, economy and excellence in small package." on by Jim Grieme
Pros: Admirable acceleration, great fuel economy and tight, responsive handling.
Cons: Style less-than-distinctive and doors sound hollow.
Summary: Honda has a proven track record regarding dependability and customer satisfaction. The EX-L package makes this car enjoyably comfortable and the navigation is fairly intuitive and well-heeled for this level of car. Not having bluetooth capability is a major shortcoming considering the technology and comfort detail this car has been given. Since no hands-free is offered Honda should at least supply information regarding available after-market applications.
