"Hard to beat performance in this class."
4.5 starson by crownline270Pros: 306 ponies, EFI, V-6...do the math. Solid and quiet
Cons: Little disappointed with the Factory Navigation Package. My Garmin at 1/4 the cost is easier to use and more accurate.
Summary: 2008 G35XS With the Nav, Sport, and Premium Options, this is my second "G" car. I got the fever after buying a 6MT coupe a few summers ago. Just got back from a 400 mile road trip. Didn't feel beat up or overly tired afterwards. On poorly/worn pavement you have to DRIVE the car. It will wander a bit searching for grooves in the road. Thanks to very tight steering, that's to be expected. Very quiet at "other than posted speeds" here in the desert southwest where you can let her breath a bit. Managed 25.6 mpg as advertised is the system display, so I can't really complain about mileage. Paddle shifters are a major plus when passing traffic on 2-lane highways. I'm beginning to believe that the Nav system is purely software based rather than GPS (dynamically) adjusted as you drive. It does track and locate your position accurately, but doesn't seem to accurately compensate for driving speed changes. It doesn't seem to recognize going faster means arriving sooner.......with little or no change to your ETA. Regardless of whether I changed the settings for the driving speed to AUTO or set it manually, I still couldn't figure out why a 60 mile leg at 60 MPH took 71+ minutes to drive, according to this system. I got to where I needed to be, I just couldn't rely on the ETA. Total time enroute was off by as much as 45 min. which is very unacceptable. Almost a geewhiz and pointless GPS, but still very useful to help find your way. My Garmin is by far more accurate and reliable. Yet this car is a total blast to drive and is a recommended buy as far as I'm concerned. Quick, responsive, quiet, and smooth as glass.

This is a question, not really a comment. In the review of the 2008 infiniti G37 coupe they used a zune and it seemed to work with the interface as the ipod connection would. I'm looking into buying this car and am a zune user. Was simply wondering if zunes worked with the interface for this or not?

I just drove from Boston to Southern California and experienced the exact same issues. I didnt average 25.6 either, more around 23.3, traveling about 80mph for 600 to 800 miles at a clip. The Nav predictions are horrible, I had my garmin that I had had custom installed in my 06 g35 coupe mounted in this dash the entire trip just to compare the two, the Garmin was accurate with arrival times within seconds at times, while the G35 would be off by up to an hour. Hopefully they can issue a software update for this problem as it is quite annoying. Also, voice recognition does NOT do a good job at picking up streets or cities. Its also frustrating that you have to stop to manually input destinations unless you speak. The millions of people with Garmins and TomTom's certainly dont have to do this.
