Pros Handles very well, really fast! One feels very secure driving this car, especially in inclement weather
Cons Cabin is tight, no bluetooth, mediocre radio
Summary I really wanted to purchase an AWD vehicle and looked at most of the sedans. In my opinion no car matched the performance, agility and price/value offered in this Suburu package.
The engine is very impressive, I really like the different modes that are available- the Sport Sharp setting makes this thing a rocket.
I am also happy with the handling- it makes you feel very secure in rain and snow ( I am in Chicagoland).
Now for a few minor issues I have. This is not a big person car. I am six feet tall and wish I had a couple of extra inches of legroom in the driver's cockpit. Not cramped but snug might be the word. Also I can't believe they have not integrated Bluetooth technology in a car of this stature. Finally the stereo is good, but again not exactly what one might expect in a technologically advanced car.
Overall am very happy with this purchase. If you are looking for a reliable car that is fun to drive and a relative bargain, I highly recommend that you check out the Legacy 3.0 R Limited.

Summary This Review is for a 2008 Subaru Legacy GT
Pros: This is a better than average car that drives smooth and has plenty of get up. I drive this to work and back 40 minutes each way. We have now owned this car for 2 1/2 years. Has nice features easily accessible through steering wheel such as gas mileage, approximate miles left per tank, etc... Biggest pro is AWD. I live in Co and it does well driving threw snow. Stopping, not so well, but mainly due to low profile tires.
Cons : 1. Dealership Issues - I have had several issues with this car since I purchased it. a) The dashboard flickers on and off (still working but no clock or radio gauges appear) b) automatic climate control, you have to turn it all the way up or all the way down for any kind of difference in temperature, so you either get really hot or really cold, nothing in between. c) The passenger side mirror defrost stopped working after the first winter I had it d) Check engine light came on because of supposedly the oil "gunked" up and engine needeed to be flushed... My car has less than 40,000 miles on it. Subaru fixed ZERO of my issues. Every time I take it in they say everything is working just fine.
2. Price: Not really worth the price, unless you are getting a super deal.
3. Door panels are extremely thin and I now have about 12 door dings (literally) along the side of my car from inconsiderate pricks who can't open their doors without hitting the car next to them.
4. Wear - Door handle on inside and steering wheel are showing a considerate amount of wear considering I have less than 40,000 miles on the car.
5. Turbo lag and bad gas mileage in the city. I get about 23 mpg in the city. Good mileage on the highway though, with about 28 mpg on average.
Next time I will stick to Toyota and buy a Lexus. I have owned several new cars and Toyota for me has taken care of every issue I have ever had. I would still stick with them even with the recalls. I am very disappointed with Subaru and its overall quality and value and how they take care of their customers. The only reason I looked at this car is because it was AWD. The last time my wife, who is 8 months pregnant, took the car in, they treated her as dumb and inferior and did nothing to help her. Just so you know which dealership I went to it was Go Subaru Arapahoe in Englewood, Co. Also, never buy an extended warranty because they will either a) make you jump through hoops to use it or b) find some way to void your warranty by saying you were negligent.
Pros Amazing ride, and a terrific buy for the money. One of the best kept low profile secrets in the auto industry. This car is a rocket, and is fun, stylish and impressive. Handles like a dream. This thing is built to last and I am really blown away.
Cons No Bluetooth. That's about it.
Summary An amazing buy for so much car. This is a terrific alternative to the more prestigious (overpriced) competitors like the Acura TL or the BMW 3 series, which this car has been compared to multiple times.
"Best in its class!"on by doctoxin
Pros 3.0L engine, 18" tires, Bilstein suspension, SI drive
Cons Back seat is a bit tight.
Summary When looking for a car I needed AWD since I live in the mountains outside of Albuquerque. I test drove a BMW 328xi, Audi A4 Quatro, Infiniti G35x and the Subaru 3.0L Legacy. By far the Subaru had the best ride and acceleration combined. The Audi was smooth but no pick up, same problem with the BMW and the Beemer was uncomfortable. The Infinite had the acceleration all right and the comfort but the price was $10K more than the Subaru and just a bit 'too much' if you know what I mean. Also, the best NAV package was in the Subaru and easiest to operate. I knew as soon as I got in and took it for a test drive that it was winner.
