"Dealing w/ the Dealership makes this car not worth it!"2.0 starson by riseabove2_2

Summary: This Review is for a 2008 Subaru Legacy GT
Pros: This is a better than average car that drives smooth and has plenty of get up. I drive this to work and back 40 minutes each way. We have now owned this car for 2 1/2 years. Has nice features easily accessible through steering wheel such as gas mileage, approximate miles left per tank, etc... Biggest pro is AWD. I live in Co and it does well driving threw snow. Stopping, not so well, but mainly due to low profile tires.
Cons : 1. Dealership Issues - I have had several issues with this car since I purchased it. a) The dashboard flickers on and off (still working but no clock or radio gauges appear) b) automatic climate control, you have to turn it all the way up or all the way down for any kind of difference in temperature, so you either get really hot or really cold, nothing in between. c) The passenger side mirror defrost stopped working after the first winter I had it d) Check engine light came on because of supposedly the oil "gunked" up and engine needeed to be flushed... My car has less than 40,000 miles on it. Subaru fixed ZERO of my issues. Every time I take it in they say everything is working just fine.
2. Price: Not really worth the price, unless you are getting a super deal.
3. Door panels are extremely thin and I now have about 12 door dings (literally) along the side of my car from inconsiderate pricks who can't open their doors without hitting the car next to them.
4. Wear - Door handle on inside and steering wheel are showing a considerate amount of wear considering I have less than 40,000 miles on the car.
5. Turbo lag and bad gas mileage in the city. I get about 23 mpg in the city. Good mileage on the highway though, with about 28 mpg on average.
Next time I will stick to Toyota and buy a Lexus. I have owned several new cars and Toyota for me has taken care of every issue I have ever had. I would still stick with them even with the recalls. I am very disappointed with Subaru and its overall quality and value and how they take care of their customers. The only reason I looked at this car is because it was AWD. The last time my wife, who is 8 months pregnant, took the car in, they treated her as dumb and inferior and did nothing to help her. Just so you know which dealership I went to it was Go Subaru Arapahoe in Englewood, Co. Also, never buy an extended warranty because they will either a) make you jump through hoops to use it or b) find some way to void your warranty by saying you were negligent.
