  • "the Jetta is a great car!!!"
    on by aviraled2002

Pros driveability, comfort, radio, tranny, engine, everything about it is great, WAY BETTER THAN THE COROLLA OR CIVIC!!!

Cons I really dont have any cons, everything is great!

Summary the guy who reviewed the car on Cnet does not what he is talking about, I think Cnet has somethign going with toyota and honda because they have many pop ups trying to sell you one. His report was Biased...which sucks. This is a great car, very comfortable, roomy, extremely affordable. I think VW hit the nail on the head on this one. Outstanding build!!!

  • "Great German Car."
    on by g350

Pros Powerful engine (more for 2008), smooth ride, great handling, high quality interior, big trunk, fold down seats, 6-speed tiptronic works great.

Cons Could have come with better tires, but that goes for almost every car. glove box and other compartments are small.

Summary Ive driven almost 2,000 miles with my jetta so far. I have taken it to high speeds, curvy roads, redline shifted, drifted, etc. This car is very fun, especially for a college student. The handling is amazing for a front wheel drive car (I test drive cars during free time.) Great amount of power for city driving, lots of torque. I have the stiptronic transmission and really enjoy it, i ususally keep the gear in "Sport mode" which gives later and faster shifts (resulting in faster driving). Interior quality is amazing, leather, 10 speaker 6-cd sound system, heated seats, blue and red dials, etc. I get many compliments about it.

  • "Awesome car!"
    on by syi003

Pros Sound system is good, interior is pretty nice, smooth ride, 170 HP plus sport mode gives more torque, Ipod/MP3 aux plug in

Cons 22 Mpg which is "ok", A/C takes awhile to get cold,

Summary I recently bought a Jetta 2008 SE and I really like the car. The sport mode gives me more torque which makes it go a lot faster (it will use up more gas though) therefore bringing up the gas issue. The car is about 22 mpg. I kind hoped that it will be higher than that but than again it at least it's not lower than that right?
The performance of the car is pretty good so far. I've had it for about 3-4 months and I did not have any problems while driving. The interior is very nice too as well as the sound system. The ipod/MP3 plug in just makes it that much more valuable to the car.
The A/C takes awhile to get it cool in the car. I've been in cars before where the A/C would come out faster and better. But I'm not saying it's bad but it cold be better.
Overall I'm happy with my purchase and I plan on using this car til it dies. Great price for the car.

  • "Amazing fuel economy, safety, comfort, and handling."
    on by doch53

Pros Fuel economy with the TDI engine is remarkable. It has excellent acceleration and sporty handling. It's standard safety features rank very well with similar competitors.

Cons I have to travel an hour to get service.

Summary BlueTooth makes driving much safer. Fuel economy is very good. So far 47 mpg. Sound system is very nice with many standard features. The ride is smooth and very responsive. 36 months of routine maintenance is also a free perk. I enjoy driving this vehicle on my 45 minute commutes to my medical practice. So I have to give it a 5 star rating for a vehicle costing less than $30,000.

  • "Sorry Mr. Cooley but the majority has spoken!"
    on by wvivz

Pros 170HP 195lbs ft torque. The SE trim level provides quality amenities not found in other trim level competitors.

Cons I dont seem to have any!
