"Why does CNET review cars?"4.5 starson by FusionGuy
Pros: Quality car for the money - better than any Japanese car in the same price point. Top-quality interior materials, great stereo, German refinement and character.
Cons: Heavy, a little sluggish at times. iPod interface stinks.
Summary: I'm not sure why CNET believes it is qualified to review cars. The Jetta is a great value when compared to similar Asian cars at the same price point. It gives you much more for the money and the car actually has character, something an Asian brand could never give you.
It's definitely not a BMW, then again it costs half of what a typical 3-series costs these days but gives you a heck of a lot more value for the money.
The Jetta is one of the safest cars on the road but this comes at the cost of being heavy for its size, which detracts from fuel economy and performance. My 2008 Jetta gets better gas mileage than what you stated, but they again how many of us are four-to-a-car in daily driving? C'mon guys, be a little more realistic.
