"This car is not what the reviewer described" on by jacksnow2
Pros: too many to name. Read the bottom line summary.
Cons: It doesn't have the brand cache
Summary: This review doesn't have a clue about why the Genesis won the NACOTR. For the quality of car you get, it only costs 38K for the full V8 375 HP with nice suave leather seat. With the Tech package, this becomes a car that competes with the 5 class, the E class, GS series, the RL series. I've compared all and for 38K, you can not find a better deal. 5 stars because this car has changed the game.
For the lack of brand cache, I'll admit, some people are snobs and will want the BMW or mercedes association. For others, this car offers a chance without luxury without the price tag. quite frankly, Many people won't go for the prestige and go for what is right in the wallet.
On agility test, the car did excellent, the reviewer did not to skid pad test, nor cone to cone drills. On average, the Genesis averaged over 65MPG on the cones and
just under 1.00G on the skid pad. That is excellent and competes with the BMW 5 series pound for pound.
With the Lexicon 17 speaker stereo system. It is beyond good. It is great. A true selling point for audiophiles. There is a deep bass with groveling treble that sounds just pristine enough to make it a very enjoyable exeperience. On top of that, it is ipod adaptable and is connected to the on screen board of the Genesis. Once again, the reviewer fails to mention the outstanding sound quality.
The Ride is extremely quite. It yields one of the lowest decibals for indoor noise in its class. Once again, a great selling point for long trips and people who like quiet environments. Cruising environments reaches level just below 70 Db. It has all the high tech noise reducing materials uniquely Hyundai.
As for the negatives, they are like nit-picks. How could a slight against the navigation unit or an address book error cause 1 and 1/2 stars. the navigation unit is well lit, the panels are back lit. The LCD unit is very easy to function and is just the right size for your viewing pleasures. Once again, a very nit-picking flaw.
Overall, the Genesis is the best car for the buck anywhere. The true essence of Luxury is found immediately when set foot on the nice leather seats and immensely enjoyable driving pleasure. To add to refinement, it is very safe, very high tech, and
very pracical at all levels of design. The build structure is A+ and the unibody build really gives handling an advantage, unlike what the reviewer stated. Don't listen to the reviewer. FInd out yourself by looking into it. I bet you'll be surprised.
