"I have one and it has been in the garage for months"
Pros: OK so it's fast and yes it goes around corners very well - when it's working
Cons: Uses a massive amount of oil - to the extent that the engine is being re-built after just 15,000KM
Summary: So this is my second attempt at buying a new Mercedes this year. The first one was an environmentally friendly diesel C220 station wagon - just for my long commute to work. I had this car for 7 weeks.
There was some kind of front suspension wobble which I noticed as soon as I drove it out of the showroom - in the 7 weeks I owned it the workshop were trying to fix it for 4 weeks.
So I did a massive "dummy spit" and basically gave the car back.
The dealer persuaded me to buy a C63 (also a station wagon) to replace it.
After one weekend of driving the car screamed at me that it needed oil and water ? I drove just 1,000Km.
I took it back to the dealer - where they did lots of investigation and made lots of excuses about oil usage when running the engine in.
They reported the problem to the factory who said that the rings and pistons needed to be replaced with an updated design.
The garage completed the work but then noticed a weeping oil seal ? and now are waiting for parts ......
So after 15,000 KM it is in the workshop (has been for 3 weeks) having seals, pistons and rings replaced.
Not happy is a gross understatement!!
Next time I'll go back to BMW - I hope that someone at AMG or Mercedes is listening to their customers ...
