"SURPRISINGLY HAPPY" on by hexco
Pros: FIRST OF ALL I HAVE THE SE-R (NOT THE SPECV) I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE IT WAS AUTOMATIC (MY WIFE CANT DRIVE MANUAL) . I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT. COMFORTABLE, SPORTY, QUICK AND FUN TO DRIVE ONCE YOU SHIFT TO MANUAL MODE AND USE THE PADDLESHIFTERS.
Cons: IN MANUAL MODE (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION), UNLIKE MY WIFES MAZDA3 GT, YOU CANNOT TAKE OFF ON THE 2ND GEAR, WHICH IS A BIG DISADVANTAGE IN A SNOWSTORM.
Summary: I SHOPPED AROUND WITH A LIMITED BUDGET (UNDER 24,000$ CDN) AND COULDN'T FIND ANOTHER CAR THAT HAD THE SAME BANG FOR THE BUCK.

"I smile EAR to EAR every time I'm in my 2009 Spec V" on by iesikhaty

Interior Spec V Trim...red stitching, seat belts, backrest logos

AUX Cable location
No blue tooth integration
No steering mounted audio controlsSummary: This car absolutely makes my day. I am not a weekend racer or a big car tuner; but I like performance cars that deliver some fast and furious action once in a while.
I look forward to my everyday commute to work now; and my weekends involve a lot more joyriding (like driving 20 clicks just to get ice-cream). The Spec V is an absolute joy to drive....and especially knowing that it's beaten the 2009 Lancer GTS in acceleration, braking performance and overall pep. I do love the Lancer to death, don't get me wrong; but the Spec V foot print makes an easy job squeezing into that parking spot where 2 guys double parked at the mall or outside the Movie Theater. I love the low rev throaty sound she gives when you hit the gas; and if you so choose, you can leave that car beside you at the lights miles behind once the lights turn green. The reviews are spot on about being under the radar; so many guys have taken 5 seconds to realize what car is ahead of them in traffic, but once they do, they point curiously at the Spec V badge.
I don't think you can go wrong with this vehicle; I think it morphs the Mazda 3 footprint (somewhat), the Civic Si performance, with some GTi class. Get this car if you can; I got mine after a few cash incentives and rebates on a 0% rate; so I'm very pleased. Cant wait to get back out in 10 minutes for my half hour commute home.
Cheers folks
