"You should drive the 2010 Model" on by rschan
Pros: My 2010 Jetta TDI comes with Bluetooth, Sunroof, Upgraded stiffer suspension, Multi-functioned steering wheel and Automatic with DSG Double Clutch,
Cons: The only beef I have about it is that I cannot or have not found out how to turn the daytime running light off when I just want to use the radio without starting the car.
Summary: The automatic has a Sport mode that made the car behaves like a sports car and great on twisting roads. The Bluetooth works like a charm with oral command.
So far, I've gotten 45 mpg on highway and 38 mpg combined. The Volkswagen TDI engine is more advance than the ones used by Mercedes and BMW as it does not need urea injection to comply with all 50 state emission standards.
You will have a much better driving experience with the Volkswagen TDI than any hybrid including the Prius and Ford Fusion and get just about the same mpg consumption. The 2009 model is good but the 2010 model is much better. -
"excellent vehicle (Jetta sportwagen)" on by speedbird59
Pros: Very High quality all around, amazing engine
Cons: none, more of a matter of opinion
Summary: I want to express my dissapointment with cnet car testers overall as they express a lot of personal opinion and that opinion is not allways accurate or well researched.i.e "the dashboard is an expanse of plastic, this implies it is hard plastic of the econo type: wrong it is of the highest quality SOFT synthetic and as well as the door coverings, very dense and solid and the quality is as high as any German car offers regardless of price. The other dissapointment for me is the video review of the Jetta where the complaint was "he hates the manual climate dial controls and could not understand why the temp dial has numbers and doubted their accuracy, well, if one read the manual and/or researched this system Vw offers, one would discover that yes those number 64,72 etc are infact accurate and infinitly adjustable temp controls that will maintaine the set temp...it's all on the VW website...The Tech side of the review is accurate as far as the mileage fluctuation is concerned . My last VW was a 2002 Jetta tdi and I now own the 2009 sportwagen and have found the city mileage is lower, however the highway mpg is better so you tend to endup with about 41mpg....The engine inspires spirited driving it is just amazing

"2010 Jetta TDi Sportwagen and Jetta TDi sedan." on by Fulpian
Pros: Summarized into last category.
Cons: Summarized below into last category.
Summary: I love the blend of performance fun to drive factor with economy and practicality. Choose the right set of wheels and window tint; and you have a very attractive car.
Solid build, fun power plant as you ride the torque wave, quality controls, love the Nav based and non Nav based stereo head unit with Sirius-really great sounds from a stock system, and finally the potential for real economical fuel usage. Even with spirited driving, we have DSG in both vehicles, the mileage is exceptional; jump into economy mode as in relaxed driving and see the mpg numbers skyrocket. The vehicles are solid, the build is tight with seemingly very good quality control; the future will tell.
I don't like the controls for speed control; should be integrated into one stalk. I don't like the rev limited to 500 rpm below redline; I think a driver should have more control over shift points. There should be a place to hold the fuel cap inside the filler door when you want to refuel. The TDi Cup Edition races Jettas with 170hp diesel engines; we should have the option for the upgrade. -
