"Fantastic machine"5.0 starson by pmichaelis
Pros: The handling, acceleration, responsiveness and workmanship. The appearance takes a time to become accustomed to but thinking back, I owned a 1963 Alfa Romeo Veloce Sprint Coupe with a similar profile and this accounts for the attraction to the car.
Cons: The hill-holder should be able to disabled when not needed much as the engine shutdown when stopped feature. The rear view mirrors could use some functional modifications to make the rear view to the sides a bit better.
Summary: So far, I love the car for all the reasons that Porsche manufactures into their cars. This is my 5th Porsche and each of them from the 944, through the 911 Targa and Cab to the recently traded 993C2S had their own peculiar attractions. This Panamera, so far, has continued the reasons for owing Porsches. The much defiled shifters are different and yet with use become another feature of the machine that makes the Porsche line such a unique product. I have yet to try the maximum acceleration, but the amount that I have investigated has shown the potential is there. An interesting aside, while taking a short trip to the Jersey Shore on the GSP, the car turned in an impressive 26.5 MPG, of course being new I never exceeded 75 MPH but this trip did include about 25% city/suburban driving.
