"Catching up?"3.0 starson by barrystockton
Pros: Seems to pack a lot in for the money
Cons: MPG needs to be improved
Summary: Hyundai are now making very good cars and offer great value for moneyIts funny isnt it - in the 1950s BMW made 3 wheel cars that were just dreadful, i know, i owned one, yet this company has now risen to "cult" status. Even Mercedes were not that great 25 years ago. Yet this reviewer writes off the Equus because it is a Hyundai.

I own both a Mercedes and a Hyundai, (have also owned several BMWs). I bought the Hyundai as a value purchase, not really expecting much. However, I have been amazed at the quality of the vehicle, its quiet, reliable, nothing rattles, the engine is powerful and refined, the doors close with a nice clunk. In contrast, my Mercedes gearbox failed after 3 years and 26000 miles and because it was out of warranty I had to argue with Mercedes for them to pay 50% of the cost. The Germans and Japanese manufacturers should be worried, because the Koreans are catching up, they offer very good value, combined with a long warranty, and do not just trade on their name to sell a well made product. Car snobs beware, the Koreans are here.
